Hey everyone! I’m having a bit of trouble and I wanted to know if I can get some guidance. I have been on the same project for four years now and I’m doing great job. I’ve gone up in the ranks and now I am the clients right hand person. However in talking with my people manager, he wants to discuss where I plan on going in my career. And honestly, I haven’t really thought about it. I have always been raised to just do my job and go home. And honestly I’m fine with that. But when it comes to 1/2
Is this legal? I’m staffed on a long project with 1+ years remaining. I routinely expense between ~2.5k on hotels weekly. I want to buy a local property and Airbnb it to myself... continued
Curious where other women purchase their clothing and what they wear to client's office, in a business casual setting with casual Fridays.
What are some common pitfalls of adopting non-enterprise software? (Beyond standard security/scalability/reliability/etc.) Client seems intent on going for a solution that may backfire in the long run and cannot seem to get the message across.
In the final round of interview with a San Fran startup that’s about to go IPO... but I know I’d be also giving up lots of the structures & project flexibility & diversity offered here at big 4. What rationale would you use to make a decision?
Being a foreign worker on H1b who recently rolled off from the project and currently on beach, what are my options in these times of impending slowdown?
Risk consulting 🐠, what do you think about the FRM certification? For those that have it, has it helped you on project work and do clients look at it favorably?
H1b approved after rfe - I’ve successfully moved to industry ✌🏽 no more amendments for every new client/project..
How granular should you be when listing clients on a resume? I will not using their name to avoid any breach of contract, but is it weird to describe them as Fortune 5, Fortune 30, Fortune 150 or should I stick to the more traditional Fortune grouping (50,100,500)? My main concern is that I want to communicate the size of the client and impact of the work but feel that top 50 isn’t as impactful as top 5.
A huge project of mine died a year back, and I just saw the exact idea on adweek. My coworker who was on the project took it to a new agency and made the identical spot. Is there anything I can do? Is this just part of the industry? I’m fucking livid
On hold for a project that seems like it's never going to start. Torched my already not great utilization
I want to request feedback (I am a staff 1 about to roll off my first busy client and feel now would be the time) but I hesitate to seem “weird” or “uncool” to those above me. Is this a valid (cont.)
Will Deloitte allow me to work from India for sometime (3-4 weeks) ? Planning to visit India for visa stamping. PS: 80 percent team on my project is from USI and there will be no client confidentiality issues.
Just got laid off due to COVID cuts, I have a background in typical brand strategy/project support/market strategy consulting work, so not a ton of professional experience but was described as a rockstar by supervisors/mentors. What can I do during this down time to stay busy? Looking at classes in PM. Happy to volunteer consulting work as well. Just want to keep the brain active - would rather work for free/cheap in the same realm than not
Honest question here-hw do I work better with Indians who come over frm India(on-site) to client? My patience with them is at an all time low since they jst dnt gt the methodology & hate owning anythng
Has anyone ever received a 100% counter offer from Deloitte? I got an offer with base increase of 30% and project PMD is making an effort to match it. Is it advisable to listen to counter offer or tell them I have made my mind to leave
A lead on my team mentioned she is pregnant and she hasn’t made the news public and just informing me as a friend. we go live in summer, she won’t be due until fall but I feel project might need back up given the crazy hours in go live, should I inform SM or PPMD in confidence and look for an additional member? How do I go about this? Don’t want to betray her trust and at the same time do not want to risk project. Anyone been on this boat before?
Interviewing for a director role and spoke with the headhunter. He said the role reports to a VP who is looking for a strategic thought partner. What do I need to showcase when I speak with this VP?
Tech consulting (cloud) offers. Which one to choose? Accenture - Cloud Native Application Architect - 180K - 20K signon Insight DI - Architect I - 167K base + 10% bonus - 5K sign on Money & benefit wise acc. looks good but I am concerned about the WLB. Also, I interviewed for Cloud native sr. architect. Recruiter came back with 'great feedback' but is now asking me to apply for application architect. It doesn't make any sense to me. Is that normal? It seems there was a goof up from recruiter
What are good interview questions for partners? I have two I like to ask people at my equivalent level, then anything relevant that came up. But I don’t think my questions wouldn’t work well with a partner.
I’ve been fully vaccinated since early this year (Pfizer), and tested positive for Covid-19 three days ago. I’m laid up in bed feeling terrible and quarantined so that my wife (who tested negative) and two kids don’t catch it from me. Remember: be safe. Don’t relax yet. The vaccines are wonderful, but we can still get it and pass it on.
Anyone able to help answer a couple LEK questions? Interested in applying with 2.5YOE in healthcare consulting.
*Advice* I recently accepted position at a 50K pay cut (covid). I shared my target salary /lateral move & at the negotiation point, they came up slightly by way of qtrly bonus structure but also outlined path for growth incl. expected salary increases at said points. Said it could be achieved in under a year. By day 4 of the new job they had accelerated to the final point in that plan without making good on title / salary. Spoke up immediately... “in discussion” 2 weeks in. Bait/switch WWUD??
I see a lot of LinkedIn posts about how we are all shopping offers and how this should be stopped. What do you all say? I feel like in case they feel it's a "crime", HRs should not proceed if we say I have a standing offer in the beginning itself. Only firms can poach people who join for lesser salary (even though market standards say otherwise) but we can't seek for better offers?
A friendly reminder to LGA folk — that stupid on-ramp adds 15-20m to your travel time. T minus 45 so here’s hoping the TSA haven’t messed up CLEAR and precheck.
Today is my first day back at work (and first full day back in my physical office) after a few weeks off for parental leave. Needless to say, I am struggling to stay focused on anything other than wanting to go back home to my spouse and child. I know I shouldn't take an emotional temperature on day one, but it has been more difficult being back than I anticipated. Any tips for navigating the waters for the first day/week/month back?
S1 audit comp in Atlanta?
I have an interview at a law firm that a law school classmate (acquaintances only) works at. I want to reach out to him, but I’m unsure what is appropriate to say. Any advice?
Dear Hotel Room Previous Guest, while I appreciate your desire to wake at 5 am, I do not appreciate you setting the room's bedside alarm to support that goal (cont'd)...
I am on H1-B visa, open to relocate and looking for State & Local Tax (Income/Franchise) Experienced Senior/Manager opportunity. Which companies are currently hiring visa candidates? Appreciate the responses, thank you!
Anyone know when holiday layoffs are being scheduled for this year? First week of December or end of January?

So is pre-promotion a busy time to jump firms? In case people don’t get promoted, leave immediately?
Anyone have any insight into white & case’s Palo alto office? Had a recruiter call me about it. I’m at another Am10 firm. Hours/culture, etc. 5th year m&a. Thanks
I finally got my standing desk. It's a game changer.
