Homeless but not jobless (thankfully)

You and me both! I love working from home! Less stressful! No wear and tear on my car and I get more sleep from day to day. Only drawback is that I work more hours.

For many of us, lower resolution = less makeup and hair. PS: my skin is loving the no makeup life, and it saves me 15+ min a day.

What role?

Same or my firm will have to agree to me coming in a maximum of 2 days a week.

Same. My commute is 2 hours (to and from) so I'd rather work extra hours than spend 2 hours commuting and paying for parking.

Same. I just need an adjustable desk, and I’m on-board. Also making me re-think our flat in the city; a house with a garden will be on the cards sooner than planned.

Good luck finding one. I hope companies change but I think there’s going to be more demand for remote jobs than anyone is offering.

Same it is so much better

Most internal firm roles are work from home. Look for an internal job listing that has 0-20% travel.

Has there been any thoughts about remote employees and finding people that are in the same or a similar profession meeting up in coworking groups? I won't have the option to work in an office with my peers and I find this a real enticing option to be able to meet different people that share a passion, but not necessarily a team or company. I would be excited to get input on what this could look like and where a congregation during working hours could take place or be organized

Quick salary question! I'm looking for any/all data/info that would help me lock in a competitive salary for a Talent Acquisition Manager. I've put together a list of potentially relevant bullet points that would help narrow down the range:

-Major city market (Atlanta)
-Software Company
-Fully remote
-200 employees
-Team of 1-2 recruiters at any time

We are looking for Certified Sales Associates

*NO RECRUITING REQUIRED

-Part time or Full time
*commission based
-NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
-Training provided
-Flexible hours
-Work from home

Do people think that remote roles limit upward mobility?
It seems that remote work is generally viewed as desirable given the flexibility it provides and the possibility of receiving high TC while living in a LCOL area. I wonder though if joining a company remote will ultimately make it harder to gain more responsibility and receive higher TC. I also wonder whether there is anything that prevents a company from changing their remote policy, thus forcing a move. Maybe this is too new to know.

Father began ignoring me once I became pregnant after a 2 yrs together. He respects my wish to keep baby but rudely says he’ll get involved once baby arrives. I text him once every 6 weeks to see if he wants to make decisions on what’s happening when the baby arrives. I committed to moving out of town for a job before I knew we were pregnant. Is there anything I can do to get a reluctant Father interested during pregnancy? Should I keep sending updates or just call when baby is born?

I lost my job in 2018 (I was 33). My wife and I had no savings (paid off our loans). We had been together for a few years and had been spending our money on vacations and dining out. It was a huge reality check. So, we decided to not let that happen to us again. We really tightened our belts, and started saving and investing. I added my 401(k) account to Mint today and realized that we had crossed the $1M net worth mark at some point this year (at $1.2M now). Wanted to share this for the 30+ 🐠..
