We are the best, we will stay the best, and no amount of media BS is going to take us down. This isn’t metoo where you can catch us with our pants down and think you’re going to destroy our careers and reputation.
The first day I joined many many years ago, a birdie told me “You’ll be amazed to find how deeply connected this firm is in every aspect of life.”
Let’s persevere colleagues.
When you starting getting to big the average worker is very mediocre....
Saw the emails . On international PTO so havent seen slack but this is less of this issue and more around all the other instances in the last 12 months. If you are referring to those emails as serious discussions, must be naive if you think this will amount to anything. Which of these seem like a serious discussion to you which will lead to a solution ? Has any partner of senior partner who have been part of these engagements spoken up- if not where is the accountability
They don’t have to. It’s a smear campaign.
Let me know if you want a referral
Looool
I think you should come here. I chose BCG over McK and am happy. Happy to talk/refer if you are interested :)
You guys are embarrassing arguing about McK or BCG with this tribal loyalty...when soon enough half of us will either get managed out, burnt out or move onto something else. Most people I know who have worked at both prefer McK (always cite it is more structured and better run)...but BCG is growing faster and is on track to lead on revenue in a few years. The firms have pushed each other to the leadership positions they both now hold. Finally - geography is crucial. BCG is never going to outdo McKinsey in London or NY - and McK is not close (anymore) to BCG in Saudi...and if you care about PE in London then you better be at Bain. Tribal loyalty to a firm is stupid and naive - unless you have equity.
Seems that they are all pretty accurate depictions of Mck culture. There’s only one firm whose former managing partner got busted for insider trading. If that’s the epitome of Mck culture then it’s unsurprising that there’s more rot in the organization.
Yeah I mean it’s clear at this point they’re an easy target but it’s not like all this shit was made up...
From the meme world
What’s ironic about this is that much like McKinsey vs. other firms, Don is fronting: he actually thinks about Ginsberg a lot...
Looking at McKinsey for a potential engagement, wondering if I can negotiate a better price on the engagement now they are getting publicly slammed(in my opinion unfairly) in the market
thanks for pointing that out, SD1. BCG4 will get back to you tomorrow with an updated quote that accurately reflects the full value of the services they plan to provide.
Every week? Seems like everyday lately.
Big 4 have had this kind of thing for a long time, at least in FT. Nobody really cares.
If they wrote about “BCG” most readers wouldn’t get what it’s about and it wouldn’t get any clicks, due to lower brand recognition (among the general audience of NYT/FT etc).
Agreed. This is the NYT playing target practice and selling newspapers. Just like Goldman on the Finance side - same thing, they want to take down the big fish.
How is it that this victim mentality is (rightfully) belittled in political debate, however accepted as valid by large parts of this forum regarding McK?
heavy lies the crown, although some of the things McK does makes themselves an easy target.
Let them bark 😎
When we go down they’ll be coming for you next...
NYT is on a total warpath and their reporting is dripping with bias. Anti-elitism is the new elitism. What’s concerning is how obsessed they are with tearing McK apart as if it’s the only company that ever finds itself in a compromised position. Capitalism is dirty business. We all need to face ourselves in the mirror.
Maybe if we did less work for fascists and dictators, idk, just a thought? ICE didn’t suddenly become bad when Trump was elected, they were evil from the start. Work for Saudi? Sure, uh. Party in China next to concentration camps? Umm. And then all the responses are about how hard it is to have to defend the Firm... boo hoo
I do think we have a bit of a problem with being in love with ideas and not considering the real-world consequences. Not just McK, though I think we along with BCG exemplify the intellectualization of business. Time’s up being value-agnostic wrt our clients.
Big firms wear big targets. Accept & embrace.
And P3 your firm’s story may be next
What’s today’s?
100% of those who oppose ICE also have locks their doors. Weird.
I think Mayor Pete is just putting McK in the crosshairs of Warrens anti-big business attacks. Will probably calm down after election
Hey random, but does McKinsey have a recruiter specifically for military?
