Whatâs the salary for M1 in deals
Thinking of leaving audit after my second busy season . My main interest in accounting was always the forensic line but got recruited for audit. Now I feel this is the best time to transition. Any advice for someone who wants to start with CPE route instead of CPA (did it a couple of time and did not pass) seeing it as a sign to go for my main interest. Also do I look for position as senior or just Associate. PwC EY KPMG Deloitte
Just quit and couldn't be happier.

I think about RSM from the individual's perspective. We all eat shit during our respective busy seasons, similar office politic dynamics, and for the first 6-8 years, make the same amount of money. Ironically, it's usually staff/senior level folks who have the superiority complex, like they're still trying to win the race to mediocrity. Get over it. You'll be a senior accountant in a year, talking about your whopping three busy seasons like you survived Normandy on D-Day.
Respectable firm with pretty talented people that will likely work just as hard, if not harder, than big 4. Often second tier firms are the budget buy for clients that either donât have to have big 4, canât afford it, or just plainly donât want to spend the money. Still a place where money can be made
TBH dude, I don't know if anyone actually thinks about other firms and if they do they're overly competitive assholes. Just run your own race.
EY 2
Just another firm thatâs not big 4
I think about RSM about once a year when I use this app

âUltra-tier firmsâ đ
RSM aka "Really Still McGladrey". I consider you guys up there with KPMG. Never gonna be up there with the ultra tier firms though. Go big or go home.
Pretty sure that's not "your" meme there bud. Better cool it before your firm gets downgraded from ultra-tier
Whoâs RSM? Must be a new firmđ¤ˇââď¸
Really Still Mcgladrey
Ultra-tier is the silliest adjective for hierarchy, up your vocabulary EY 2 with all those glowing tumors in your brain from your meme đ
I honestly had never heard of them until fishbowl...
Itâs a CPA firm, period.
I mean I donât really respect non big 4 conclusions at a lot of my clients based on experience, but to be honest who gives AF. If you like it, itâs right for you.
Thatâs funny. The rest of us think that about KPMG
We donât think about you

Knowing people who have worked for Big 4 and RSM, they say the firm is a lot of the same except they just don't have the same resources or perks as Big 4. They brought in a lot of people from the Midwest in the Bay Area at the upper levels around here years ago.
I moved to Big 4 from another larger mid-tier firm and was stunned to learn how many people in Big 4 didnât even know that my previous firm existed. I think most people know who RSM, GT, BDO, and CH are and think of them as competent just not in the same league. At the end of the day if it isnât Big 4 it is looked at with less respect.
