Hope false accusers get sued and named just as publicly! Whatever happened to due process? Royer is ruined and nobody has proven a thing.

Due process is for criminal affairs in the justice system. Private companies are allowed to proceed as they see fit. Ironically that’s how we ended up in this situation in the first place. This time however HR is hiring an outside group to investigate.

Remember all the comedy nerds who denied the Louis CK allegations for years and went so far as to attack "false accusers" for even suggesting their comedy god would commit such acts, only for Louis to admit to everything himself later on? Don't be like those guys.

Companies don’t usually fire high level folks without a lot of ammo. That’s what why there are so many payouts and NDAs. Firing him cost them a lot in a contract buyout and reputation

False accusers are like fraudulent voters: for all intents and purposes, they don't exist.

The stories involving Royer and his abuse of power go way back. And if there were settlements, there were NDAs. I am assuming there must be recent events that have come to light. Droga would not pull the plug on this guy otherwise. They can no longer sweep this shit under the rug.

To be fair though, he may or may not have done the things he’s accused of doing - that’s presumably what the investigation is for, isn’t it?

But - he’s already been tried, sentenced and executed in the online court of public opinion. The investigation’s findings regarding him are irrelevant at this point - he’s a 'convicted’ harasser, there’s no getting away from that label now, whatever the investigation turns up.

Actually, Account Director 1, you can assume he is innocent until proven guilty...that's exactly how this works. The theory is that we as a society would rather see criminals go unpunished than have innocent people punished for crimes they didn't commit. Innocent until proven guilty is pretty much the core underpinning of our judicial system.

The premise applies to both criminal and civil cases, although the threshold of proof is different between the two. And even though a private company can fire someone for conduct detrimental to the good of the company, the person who got fired can still sue the company under certain circumstances.

Thus the need for official accusations and real investigations. Anonymous accusations on Instagram aren't going to cut it.

@ CD 3&4. Guess what? There is no secret smear campaign. No one, not even an evil manipulative Eve of a woman, gains anything by coming forward with anything but the truth. Women know even when we do speak our truth we are usually not heard, or believed and nothing is done to set things right. Usually nothing truly can be done to set things "right" so for now we'll settle for legal action and firing of the people who have abused us. Even though that won't give us back the sense of safety and self that you take for granted. So quit defending these men, better yet stop speaking and start listening.

Get another historical example please I'm tired having witch hunts, which were used to persecute women, referenced as a way to discredit the way we are finally speaking our truth. Being placed on leave pending an investigation is not the same as being fired. They have to conduct an impartial investigation which means without the accused in the environment where the alleged conduct occurred (and where victims and potential victims may be — leaving the person in this environment also puts the company at a liability risk if he is not removed during the investigation and more misconduct occurs). No access to the office, to email, etc. Once the investigation concludes, he will either be fired (if “found guilty”) or reinstated (if “found innocent”). What is happening is literally what you’re asking for. How is this difficult to comprehend?!

I truly think we're all on the same side here and want truth and justice for people who are genuine victims and penalties for the perpetrators.

However, to deny that there is not a secret smear campaign happening is a bit naive. This movement has now grown to a witch hunt. Good men are getting hurt at several shops.
