Hoping to see where I stand in the open market re: salary. I have 6.5 years experience in workers comp, WCLS/AIC/AIC-M designations, and I’m certified to handle CA claims and licensed in FL and TX. Currently at 78k annually, plus bonuses, and live in the Midwest.

Am I low? Where I should be? Could I make more elsewhere?

Seems low for a people manager

like

Seems low but it higher than the CMs in auto claims where I work. I personally would want at least what you make to manage people in any sort of claims.

I also think adjusting doesn’t pay enough. It’s fun but it’s a grind everyday to exceed expectations

Those are a lot of designations for similar pay. Are you in leadership?

like

I am - claim supervisor.

It seems like you wear a lot of hats I would write up the tasks that you do on a daily basis, and see if your current job Description adds up to it. because in my personal opinion I would do a salary evaluation. Because of the workload and compare to what other companies offer for the same role/ tasks you complete

Anyone get a verbal offer where the hiring manager tells you they will be sending a formal offer letter, but be patient. No details on compensation, benefits, PTO, etc shared at all. It’s been a week and I’m still waiting. Not sure if this is an ominous sign.

Currently work in the fund of funds space - moving over to my firm’s hedge fund research team soon so CAIA seemed like a perfect way to get knowledge in the area beforehand. I’m almost one year out of undergrad (econ background) so a lot of the CAIA content is new to me

If you want more from your career, but you can’t stop thinking about how stuck you are, you won’t get more from your career.

Thoughts —> Beliefs —> Actions —> Change

1. Think: what would “a better career” look like? Write it down.

2. Believe you deserve it. Believe it’s yours before you have it.

3. Take action:

- Suggest improvements at work
- Look for new job opportunities

4. The change in you already occurred and the next change will be in your career.

Any recommendations on how to mentally check-in in the morning? Doesn't seem to matter what I do. I get enough sleep, work out in the morning a couple times a week, manage my caffeine intake (a cup of coffee still only helps a little), and have a basic morning routine I follow. I'm not a morning person, but can fake it when I'm with people. When I don't have to interact with people (calls) I'm easily distracted and have a hard time focusing in on anything.

I am a 7 year litigation associate and so burnt out on it. I want to transition to in house, but have applying and not getting traction. My experience is mostly insurance defense/coverage, and most of the positions out there seem to be for tech or transactional work. I also come from smaller firms and a smaller school, so no big names behind me. All the recruiters I’ve talked to will only peg me as an insurance defense associate and won’t send me anything else. How do I get out of litigation?

The apartment has put him up for eviction and I feel bad about this cos it was cost savings. Is there anything I can do to save this?
