How would a consulting firm/partnership even go bankrupt? Do we buy PowerPoint licenses from Microsoft on credit?
Like, what are the debts we would be unable to pay in a crises? Real estate loans? It's not like we have massive inventories of raw materials we have to turn around.
Very easy - the firm internally appreciates the share price higher than the firm should really be valued. Senior partners with large holdings leave the firm with large liabilities to them. Plus any bad acquisitions.
Either BCGs / Bains senior partners will suck the firm dry as they exit. Or McKinsey will get caught pedaling fentanyl to children.

Consulting firms are way too profitable for that to happen and assets tend to be very liquid to boot. The only way is if there’s a massive scandal or illegal happenings
M2 and even then, they can just trim down by laying off like 50% of their staff..
Let's not forget that the only piece of Arthur Andersen that survives today is the consulting arm. Consulting != audit, there just isn't the same level of exposure to lawsuits and the downside of reputational damage is not the same
