Hot take: MBB and Big 4 consultants should be required to speak a second language

What is the hiring market looking like these days? I am seriously burnt out and ready to exit MBB consulting, but feel this economic downturn may not be the best time to make big career moves. Thoughts?

Are Tier 2 firms worth it, given the ratio of brand prestige to WLB? For instance, if you have an offer from MBB but think you might not enjoy the long hours, sucking it up could pay big after 1.5-2y (due to the brand prestige). However, can we say the same for tier 2? Is it worth it to scarify WLB?

Graduating senior. Have choices between MBB and SWE at FAANG. Not sure what to do. Long term I’d love to be in a small startup or a leader in a tech company. Not sure which path is better for that. Any thoughts?

Can you single out a company that you can confidently say pays very well and also has good wlb and also has good opportunities etc.?

I was on a partner/manager call today and they were discussing the “high” turnover at the senior and experienced associate level. What was shocking is that while ours is about double normal, evidently we are 3 out of 4 in turnover meaning 2 of the Big 4 are even higher.

I am a junior full stack dev looking to move to a better paying junior role or a mid role and honestly these style of questions have always stumped me. Now a new internal Deloitte exec recruiter contacted me to follow up…6 months after being ghosted. Any thoughts on partner/principle recruitment process at Deloitte? Is Deloitte wasting my time? A friend of mine from a top tier consulting firm was counseled out. Do you consider it ethical that his career counselor is intentially spreading the information to his colleagues and to other consultants from other companies in the project? What can he do about it? Specially that he considers the potential layoff is purely based on the current situation (chargeability was low) and not on his performance (they said that his contribution to BD during his bench time was low)?

Everyone is a total moron, you are the smartest guy in the room, constantly needing to be patient with idiots who do everything the wrong way and they aren't likely to learn or change. You can totally coast and delegate most of your work away and be cushy.
