Hot take- the laziest habit in professional services is not changing the title of an oft-replied to and forwarded email that has clearly veered from the topic of the original title (and perhaps never had a clear title in the first place).

I leave it the same because I assume people on the e-mail chain will recognize the conversation based on the title - whether relevant or not.

I think the laziest habit is entering no description (or a generic description) for time charged to a code.

Hah no way fam. That’s for austerity reasons.

By far the laziest habit is “pls fix”. No context, no constructive feedback. It’s a cop out from having to do work

like

No, my vocabulary is very poor and I can’t think of new titles

Funny, this is also top on the list of “things people with too much time worry about” 😂

like

This an ice cold take. If it’s a chain, leave the subject alone so you’re not confusing people

like

I beg to differ-the laziest thing in professional service is only selectively reading emails based on the title

Jk Op not targeted at you, but to some partners or clients that I worked with, I really want to say just frigging read all your emails, don’t tell me you don’t read bc you “get too many emails everyday”

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.
