Wrap dresses motherhood maternity will grow with you. And you can wear them after. Get sold solids and some prints and you are set up throughout.

I bought a bunch of fitted cotton maternity dresses from amazon and some long Cardigan sweaters that covered my butt. If you’re normally pear shaped (I am too) then the bump will still be the smaller part of your body and it actually helps to accentuate the bump!! Get you a couple long Kendra Scott necklaces and some comfortable heels (or pointed toe rothy’s) and You’re in business! Oh also, recommend a pair of Spanx maternity shapers. Actually felt like it held up my bump plus shaped my butt!

I liked gap, target and old navy best for mat wear. I also had a pair of good American maternity jeans I LOVED. I thought more fitted stuff was more flattering that super flowy tent-like options. Sweater/jean jacket/zip up/ kimono over fitted dresses was my go to vibe. For home lounging I liked mat leggings (over the bump) & sports bras. I had 0 patience for shirts.

I’m 32 weeks with my third and have never been a small pregnant lady... In “normal” times, dresses work well. I did end up buying maternity clothes - mostly a few bottoms on basic colors and then some maternity tanks I’d layer under pre-baby blazers and sweaters. You get a more leeway on business attire as you expand and I took full advantage. In COVID times, I wouldn’t buy much more than maternity leggings and maternity t-shirts or tanks and layer. I can still fit into larger size pre-baby work out clothes, but they’re definitely running out of room quickly. Realistically, you’ll be in maternity clothes at least a few weeks (years? - they’re hard to give up!) post baby, so it’s worth getting some staples that are comfy.

I lived in Old Navy maternity chinos and Amazon empire waist nursing tops for a long time. Gap also has stretchy shift dresses that are super cute and accentuate the bump so you look neatly pregnant and not just like a blob drowning in fabric

Wrap dresses were my go to the first round! Usually with a 3/4 sleeve. Plus shorts and t shirts.

For lounge/activewear: Lululemon align leggings are my personal favorite. Didn’t even have to size up. I ended up buying a pair one size bigger towards the end of my pregnancy because I wanted to shop, but the smaller size still fit. The lululemon “love” tank a few sizes bigger was also a favorite and still looks cute now that I’m back to my pre pregnancy size.

I’m 33 weeks now, very large hips and big boobs, thin waist pre pregnancy WOOF bump now (I popped early around 12 weeks) My essentials: - maternity yoga pants (over the bump) and workout tops (Gap mostly). I live in these every day, and the compression I feel has helped with no stretch marks - maternity non wired bras and undies (have reqs if you want them) - men’s XL compression shorts / maternity spanx under my dresses - fitted dresses (mostly target and pinkblush). These are very flattering on my body. I have to size up on pinkblush, but don’t for any other brand - one or two fitted shirts for zoom calls (old navy and gap. I wear them over yoga pants) Note: I only bought one maternity biz casual dress (seraphine) before Covid hit, so I stay casual.

And I guess general advice for pear / hourglass: tight maternity dresses (most of the dresses are around knee length so I feel cute but still feel appropriate). Loose or shift dresses make me look ginormous

Is there anyone that is teaching from home and your students have returned to school? How did you get permission to do that and how does that work with kids in the classroom? I am guessing there has to be an adult in the room while the students are in there but is there another teacher during their planning or do you have to get a sub? Our reentry has been delayed and I am working with HR to try and stay home while students aren’t there but it looks like I’m going to have to take some Parental Leave once students do return because there is not a plan otherwise.

I’m at the point that I start trembling every time I get an email alert. It’s the little things piling up that is getting to me. The to do list full of, “send emails to X about Y,” “follow-up re this,” “revise the 100 small things the baby lawyer drafted.” Tasks that might take 15 minutes to an hour individually, but all together it’s a lot. I’m the bottle neck. I’m the one who needs to move these things along. But there’s always something bigger and more urgent. Nothing’s ever FINISHED.

Our 5 month old started daycare about 5 weeks ago. We’ve already had to keep her home for 2.5 of those 5 weeks due to catching various illnesses (croup, rsv, brinchiolitis, etc). Both my wife and I have been sick most of that time as well (gotten it from the baby). Wife is thinking we get a full time nanny for the next 4 months to help the baby build antibodies. Cost aside, is this feasible / worthwhile to go thru the effort / finding the right fit, only for 4 months?

@Deloitte/Pwc folks: Do you need to work a certain amount of time at the firm before being eligible for parental leave?

I’ve been waiting for security clearance since July and just found out I’m pregnant after trying for a year. I’m hoping clearance will be granted in early spring 2021 and I can start work soon after. Thankfully taking unpaid time off isn’t a big issue (won’t be eligible for FMLA or parental leave), but worried about timing and telling HR & my supervisor. I’m planning to tell them once I start; know timing isn’t ideal and stressed about starting off on the wrong foot. Any advice?

I grew up in a low income and single parent family. Humble beginnings. Now doing an average job as an accountant. I always feel inferior and insecure during a relationship. I know it’s not good but I cannot stop feeling that way. I don’t know how to become the confident, outgoing and stress free version of myself.
