In MSP, if you stay and work downtown, you can go anywhere you want, without ever stepping outside, even in the middle of the coldest winter. Plus airport is nice :)

DEN FTW. MSP is a great city also though a little too cold. Great hockey and beer in both cities and obviously the mountains in CO

Consider yourself lucky. I've been with the firm for three years and all local projects so far. Houston as well.

Seem low? I've heard that some of my co-workers make $15k+ more at the same level, but I'm unsure.

MBA graduate in Marketing. Changed companies very frequently but stayed at Oyo for almost 2years as Zonal manager until the lay off. After ~1year of trying during covid, got a job as Client Advisor in NoBroker. It has been 5months but the pressure is high. Now wants to work in IT. Any advice how one should proceed? Which certification will help and where to get it?

I spend 2 hours a day being productive and the rest of the time watching Netflix/Hulu/etc or napping/eating.

Have been doing this for 3 months now and I continue to get positive feedback from everyone. I can do this for another year (duration of my project) and no one will say anything.

Had to get that off my chest. Life is so nice/on easy mode these days 😬

How do you handle a coworker (at your level) delegating and assuming a supervisory role within a certain client/ account? I am finding it very frustrating since she is delegating all of the admin tasks (monitoring, recaps, and agendas) to me and assuming the reviews and not the development. Thanks!

Currently on a long-term M&A project which has made it impossible to practice for the GMAT... Is this something the MBA admissions would be somewhat understanding of, if I end up receiving a lower score? Or does everyone get "judged" the same? I find it hard to perform when my brain is mush after working 60-hr weeks long-term.

How do people deal with partners telling clients that “[name of associate] will do it” without asking you first? I am the only associate with any experience in a particular practice area so I always get picked to do this type of work but am also running deals/really busy otherwise and don’t have time to do a huge project right now on a tight timeline. I keep getting forwarded emails from the same partner and down the chain it clearly says that I will do things I don’t have time to do. Advice?

Dumb question: how is it that the threshold for top 1% income in the US is ~$400k, while for top 1% NW it’s $11M? Most people don’t spend most of their careers making that kind of money, and even if they save/invest half of that balance, it’d take the majority of their lives to get there.

My guess is: 1) Inheritance; 2) Rare, alpha producing events such as working at/founding a company with a great outcome; 3) above avg investment/home appreciation.

Thoughts? Am I missing something here?
