Generate open projects on git. Just make something that solves a problem or problems for you in your personal life or explore a concept even if it's something as basic as blackjack game or automatic random pizza generator and go from there. And contribute to other open projects, assuming you are a much more advanced programmer than I. 🙃

This is what I would do. Showcase your skills.

Do you use open source software at work? Contribute to some open source packages that you use, or create some that solve a problem for you at work and publish them.

I'm glad you asked this because I've been struggling with the same thing. The suggestions on here are great.

I'm looking to buy a house. What multiplier of (salary - annual debt servicing) should I use to determine my price range after down-payment? I see a lot of recommendations based on monthly payments and percentages of monthly gross income but I'm wondering if there's an easy rule of thumb related to annual income. Currently looking for 3x.

Admittedly a men’s fashion question, but looking for men’s tech/fintech fashion advice for my dad. His old-school insurance company was acquired by a more techy company, and he is trying to figure out what to wear. Any advice? I already sent him the midtown uniform Instagram page as some jokes/inspiration but that seems more finance and less tech. Thanks!

I have a pending I-485 and my case was recently “ready to be scheduled for an interview” about 2 weeks ago. I haven’t traveled to my home country for 3 years and was looking forward to going this December … I have a valid H1b that expires in 2023 and would need to get it stamped. There are appts available in my home country. However I don’t have AP (did not apply due to valid H1b). Is there any risk to my GC application if I travel abroad and get a H1b stamp to re-enter the US?
