Completely acceptable in the Midwest, Northeast, and anywhere else with real weather. Hunter boots in LA? GTFO.

Do you mean west coast? I'd change in the airport

How do you carry your shoes?

I put my work shoes in my bag. When I get to the client site, I put my boots in the corner and change into said work shoes. No one has ever said anything to me

Lol ^ what if I travel to and from east coast though

I had a fancy pair of flip flops. Used you change once I got into the client's site. ED looked down at my feet once and told me to never do that again! Until this day whenever he sees me he immediately looks down at my feet.

I always wear boots in the winter and loafers in the summer then change once I get to the office/client. I've never had anyone complain-quite the opposite, male managers have told me they never expect women to wear heels to work if they don't want to.

Yeah, to do otherwise and wear heels is just stupid.

@BCG1, People definitely wear boots to work in LA 😂

I wear boots in the winter and flip flops into the client everyday. Why would anyone care?

Anyone have any tips or ideas on how to collect money owed from a client? In a few months it’ll be two years since the debt was incurred. We send monthly reminders of the bill. It’s a significant amount (well to us) and the client is now starting to open up and telling everyone about the situation that we helped to resolve.

Do you share everything with your SO? I wear my heart on my sleeve and once I am comfortable in a relationship tend to just spill everything. I understand you need to be transparent but is there also an element of treating them and your relationship like a project management activity where you should filter some things if they are not absolutely necessary?

Tbh after a few hours I just loose focus, it’s painful to be sitting in calls for so long but the current client basically only works with calls where they invite 10 people and it’s a mess...

Thoughts welcome. Consulting is a series of high stress and normal stress cycles. In a high stress cycle at the moment. One project is going past the time mark with client delays, but we need to keep in the game due to good potential for add on. That is getting in the way of another project, now mid way, where I can't get to all that needs to be done (I have a team, but my piece is behind) my other two projects are smooth sailing (great client, great team, praise the lord). End of year calibration , Business Development prospecting, expense reports, jet lag, oh yes family time. How do you handle the high stress cycles when saying "no" is not a viable interim option? When you have maxed out every min of the day, and working the night shift too, what things have you found effective to cope?

I don't want to resign, but after reaching out to my coach and managers about ongoing frustrations, I'm not seeing any traction to address my concerns. I hate my project, and I've been on it for a year. It was supposed to end, but I've been reassigned for the foreseeable future. I work almost every night and many weekends. I have to work over the holiday disconnect. I'm not sure what else to do, as none of my concerns have been addressed, and I feel like my only option is resignation. Advice?

Is it common at your agencies for a director level strategist or even creative or account to work on a piece of business solo, no jr support on your team. Just you on like a 6,12 or 18 month project.

How do you politely decline a project/offer to join a specific team without burning bridges? It’s exactly what I want to do but the time is just horrible
