Dating apps are not my preference but a lot of my friends have had success on them. Hinge and Bumble are the best based on my experience / friends experiences.

Bumble is good. Met my current partner on it. Honestly the key to these apps is to vet people well based on what you want. I got sick of bad dates so I started making it a rule for myself that I have even a quick phone call with anyone before meeting them. So if you’re texting someone for a while and start talking about getting together, suggest saying “Can we chat over the phone even just for a quick hello? I have this rule after meeting a bunch of weirdos if u don’t mind.” And then also be clear. If you’re only interested in a one night stand, say you’re there to have a fun time nothing serious.

like

Eh. Hit or miss. Part of it is the nature of the apps. You have unlimited possibilities! But, you won’t be compatible with most people. It makes it hard for some people to commit to a relationship. The other part of it is New York itself. We are a city full of people trying to make the most out of every moment, but always looking for the next best thing. Dating is hard here, swiping culture makes it harder. I’ve had the most success sticking with one app (currently it’s Bumble) at a time. I’ve had relationships all of the “traditional” ways too (met through friends, met at work, met at a concert) and I can’t say they were better or worse than any relationships I’ve had through apps. I think it’s just more work, overall.
