Salary vs Hourly - any other hourly EA’s here? I have an interview with T-Mobile next week and their EA’s are hourly. I’m currently hourly now, and Overtime is not permitted. I hate having to clock in and out because I am working regardless. As soon as I clock out is when everyone calls me to do something. Would it be possible to negotiate being salary instead of hourly?

Headhunters using the typical phrase “if you see a job out there, before applying, send it to me. I might know people internally and might be able to help.” Obviously, this is so that they can catch that money. My question: if they DO know ppl internally, then there’s a chance of a win-win. Is it often the case? Does it affect compensation because now they have to pay intermediaries/headhunters?

I went on an interview yesterday. To say it was disappointing would be an understatement. The partner that interviewed me was nice, but he did not understand transactional law. At my last firm, I was a hybrid between transactional tasks and litigation. When billable hours came up, he scoffed at my previous requirement and stated that his were at minimum 60% more. He told me about the “good ole days” when associates were expected to work 200 billable hours a month. He can’t find anyone.

Is $70,000/year, requiring 1600 billable hours, with a $4K bonus if I make the billable hours requirement, reasonable for family law?
The practice is 10-20 people; 5 attorneys if I join. In the suburb of Atlanta, GA.
