How are MDs vs Partners treated in your firm? PwC, EY

I’d like a sounding board, specifically on the weight given to PQE outside of law firms.

I’m in a small legal team - not at a law firm. I do the same work as my (male) colleague who has a senior title (I do not). We both report directly to the same principal (I don’t report into my colleague). When work comes in, my colleague and I just figure out who has capacity and then do it accordingly.

The only difference is that my colleague is +2/3 PQE. Am I being unreasonable to think we (cont’d)

I honestly cannot believe these well produced videos of summer parties sponsored by various companies that have not one person of color. Not even the still photos. Not one person of any visible color. Just white people frolicking happily together. So how are you guys reporting DEI? Or was that just a trending topic?

Is job title important? Some places like bank takes several years to get to a certain title and places like start ups have inflated titles. Just wondering how much weight should be placed on titles if I'm doing accounting closes.

First year dealing with K1s - How do you all deal with these when filing taxes (in a normal year when tax day is 4/15) given you get them after tax day? Partner 🐠: How much “sourcing” do you have to do at your current company? I am asking because i enjoy responding to RFPs issued by potential clients or helping existing clients with new projects where they need help, but I don’t feel very comfortable trying to source new projects without leads, it feels very artificial much similar to cold calling, and being introverted does not help
