Anyone have any recommendations on cities to temporarily move to while working remote? Living at home and over it and would like to switch up my environment for a month or two.
Boss just emailed expecting team to work over weekend. Already spent 60h this week staring at screens WFH. Should I just ignore?
Back in the day, I did my own PR, sales & marketing for whatever business idea I was running with at the time. What’s a good remote sales opportunity I can do anywhere in the world that won’t be painful or too high touch? Where I can use my social & business skills (markets, law, cloud, publishing, media, logistics, algos, social media, books, ebooks, design, podcasting, marketing, press release writing, voiceover, journalism) to earn a few extra shillings?
Hi all, I’m a IT strategy consultant working remotely by contract. I’m also doing management consulting for startups and small companies. Fluent in English and French, intermediate in Portuguese, I’m available for remote opportunities in Europe and Americas. I have consulting experience in a big4 firm and professional services of a software company. The sectors where I have the most experience in : Finance, Government, Logistics and Smart cities. Please feel free to reach out!
First day as scrum master and for a new team, any tips? I’m not used to gathering a team that’s 100% remote and am trying to figure out creative ways to get the team engaged.
Which dual monitors are good to use for work from home for consulting within $400 budget? Deloitte
Has anyone transitioned to a fully-remote role? How did you go about it, or did the company offer the option on their own? Last thing in the world I want to do is commute back to NYC again.
Please help to decide the best offer based on CTC & WLB. 1. Capgemini: 17.1 fixed + 1.9 variable 2. R system: 21 fixed + 1 L JB ( WFH permanent) Current : 7.5 YoE: 7.1 years
Any agencies offering remote media positions?
Anyone else tired of the assumption that because you’re a partner you have to think a certain way and believe certain things. I’m talking about wokeness, work from home, and the recent ever constant pushing of the needle to the left or risk getting “cancelled”. I’m fairly liberal politically so for me to be saying this I think may say something for the current climate. I should be able to hold and express my own opinions without being quashed because I’m not “woke” enough.
Anyone stuck abroad during this time due to flight delays? Are you firms letting you work from home?
Just curious, what are all the B4 policies on the vaccine and how they are accommodating for personnel WFH?
Looking for some quick icebreaker ideas! Team is getting together for the first time in a long time and now has a bunch of new members. We are still hybrid so some will join in person and some will be remote.
Our firm is going to be hiring after 10/15! 55-65 hour weeks during busy periods. Primarily looking for seniors and up, but we will also consider experienced staff. Firm is located in Los Angeles but remote is also a possibility (I’m fully remote and so are a few others). Clients we serve are ultra high net worth, real estate investors, and the entertainment industry. DM if you’re interested.
What’s the word that’s been communicated regarding WFH/office for EY FAAS? Are they making a push to come back to office soon?
Whats your go-to meal when cooking a quick lunch while WFH? Lately I’ve been making roasted sheet pan veggies (sweet potatoes, red onions, broccoli, asparagus and seasoning) and it’s epic. 20 minutes on medium heat and then 5 on broil. Love it!
Hey all - I am at a regional firm in the northeast (300 employees) that recently started a search to include permanent remote, full time or part time roles in every facet of our tax group. We honestly are growing quickly (below average turnover) and just need more good people as our client base grows. Good management, very fair compensation, and an actually flexible work environment (we have quite a few part time / reduced hours) and advancement opportunities... Give me a shout!
Keeping the big 4 in mind, what role/level would you have to reach before you qualify for a eb1c L1 visa with a good chance of approval?
My firm (nyc) has been back in office since September. We still have WFH policy but it feels like if you’re choosing to WFH even one day a week you’re slacking. Anyone else?
Hi, I work for a non-profit and we hire nationwide for 2 positions as well as locally for numerous positions. I’m looking for recommendations, reviews and any advice for online job boards. We use Indeed, Glassdoor, Craigslist, just got back into Zip Recruiter and working on getting LinkedIn up and running. Any help is appreciated.
What’s United’s baggage delay delivery policy?
Who else is too burned out to even apply to other jobs? And for those of you who managed to apply and interview successfully while working - how did you do it? Any concrete, tactical advise would be very much appreciated.
Just woke up in my outfit from last night alone and confused..but most tragic to me is that my CSR is missing 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I want to hit Marriott Gold before my next business trip (so I can have my trip count towards the fast track from gold to platinum promo)... and I will be there if my 15 elite night credits from my Marriott credit card are applied (opened the card about three weeks ago). Is there any way to speed up the application of those credits? Anyone have any luck doing this via phone?

One of my two favorite spots in LAX, the piano between T4/TBIT (the other favorite spot is the Qantas First lounge just a little further down)
Those working in consulting at big 4..are you constantly seeing yourself working 50+hrs during Covid and just being told to keep doing it? To what extent can we push back? Just because we are home doesn’t mean we don’t have family obligations as well... expectations up front are never communicated so I don’t find out I’ll be working long until I start a new client....meanwhile many colleagues are working 40hrs consistently but pay is same.... not a complainer but something’s gotta give
Reviews are coming up and I've been promised a title bump (we'll see). I'm currently interviewing at other agencies and while I'm not interested, should I use that in any salary negotiation?
Hey y’all - I have a large amount (think $20K +) of credit card debt. I recently finished grad school and have enough to pay it all off, but a lot of my money is in stocks, mutual funds, etfs, etc. Should I just liquidate and pay down the CC debt ASAP? Should I consolidate the CC debt into another loan? Curious how folks have thought about the right balance of debt vs investment.
Are there any senior fund formation attorneys here in biglaw willing to help me with interview prep for a mid level lateral position, or at least help me boost my confidence? Failing at my interviews and feeling miserable and defeated. Willing to pay for your time/guidance, or at least owe you a giant favor in return. Thank you.
