How are people in long distance relationships coping? We used to see each other every 2 months before covid but I literally have no idea when I'll see my bf next and it bothers me more than it bothers

Him. And I'm someone whose love language is more words of affirmation and his is touch. So it's really hard to deal with not knowing when I'll see him next. Sigh I know it's not a big deal but it's bumming me out. He's so secure in our relationship and things like this don't stress him out but they do for me

Ask him to say something affectionate everyday to you

Are you me? Similar situation and I’m also huge on words of affirmation (his is act of service). So he would rarely call me first or say nice things - conversations need to have a purpose according to him. It’s important to have a self reminder to not stress out each other even more given the circumstances. I know it’s easier said than done. There are lots of days, I’m just very grumpy as well. If he’s been understanding, have some faith that this will pass soon!

Also something my bf and I started doing is scheduling calls - it makes us intentional about making time for each other and gives me a concrete time to look forward to each day

We both bawled when he left last week because we didn’t know when the next time we’d see each other would be... acknowledging and talking about love languages candidly is a good start. I started writing snail mail letters cause it’s different and fun and he’s a words of affirmation guy :) maybe he can do the same for you especially if he’s not a man of many words usually

Haha I had to order some from USPS cause I didn’t have any, before they arrived I had to ask a neighbor for one and he stuck it on his door frame and backed away so I could grab it 😂

Hi! I’m not sure if this is the right question but I’d like to be fitter. I’m 230lb and 5’8 so it’s really bad. Because of covid I haven’t gone to the gym, I have 2 weights at home. Any recommendations on workouts from home? Running or jogging hurts like hell so I’ve been trying to walk at least 5 miles per day, some push-ups and sit-ups. I have watched a few videos online as well. Thank you guys

Black tie wedding planned for fall ‘21. Two questions for you classy folk: 1) I only have 1 real (non apple) watch 2020 JLC Master Control - but it is silver with light brown band (I always wear brown dress shoes). Is it too uncouth to wear it with black shoes / black tux? What about a navy tux (still prob have to do black shoes tho). 2) As you guys climb the latter, are there really ever occasions (COVID notwithstanding) where a tux is warranted? Debating buy vs. rent. Thanks!!

I got sick with what I at first thought was stomach bug last Sunday (vomiting, fatigue, then crazy chills and body aches). Lasted 1 day. My nose was also a bit congested, so went to get a pcr on Monday and got a positive result. Tested again at 2 diff places on Wed - 2 negatives. All pcr. Had no symptoms since Sunday. Has anyone had something similar happen to them? Was it just false positive (everyone’s been saying that almost never happens), or just super mild case of Covid?

I have a brief resume gap from near the beginning of covid but have been at a new employer for >1 year. I’ve been asked about said gap during in-house interviews, but it’s generally been cursory and I give the explanation agreed upon by former employer. I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this. Does anyone who switched from consulting to product management have any recommendations of h helpful PM books, courses, or programs?

Help me out, everyone seems to be having much milder symptoms with Omicron. Is the hospital capacity issue due to people panicking and going to the hospital despite having mild symptoms or because staff are out with illness?
