Transitioning to a lot of telemedicine visits.

Well our urgent care turned into a resp care. Now urgent care pts can't see pcps. Kind of crazy.

It’s been rough. Especially doing telemedicine with COVID outpatients who are experiencing dyspnea and finding creative ways to assess their breathing without a pulse ox. For others, I find it harder to cut telemedicine visits short because it’s obvious that people are desperate for human interaction. I do like seeing people’s home environments via video because it gives me better context

Our practices are partnering with certain Home Health companies to be present with patients to support the Telehealth PCP visits with a 2 day advanced notice of appt when possible. Some Home Health companies have a Telehealth program that can drop off equipment like a pulse ox , scales, BP monitoring equipment that can be evaluated remotely with any abnormal values reported to the PCP. This has been very helpful!

Outpatient surgery is a challenge. Many of my pain patients are so grateful for continued care. Our GI lab is running two days per week now and the upper GI patients are getting better. There is a certain calm now in these two populations as they are getting unhurried and focused care.

The guy I’m dating (dating for 1 month, exclusive for 2 weeks) went to test for COVID because he feels sick and wants to postpone his deferred exam. His result came back negative today and he told me that he would try to use an app to change the results so that the university will postpone the exam. I consider this to be a red flag because this sounds like a serious personal integrity issue regardless if he succeeds in doing it or not. He might cheat on other things. What do you think?

I am an idiot and you can tell me that. But I need advice to help the problem I caused. It's too much for my husband to take in, and he's pretty conflict-avoidant. Brother's wife messaged me saying brother knows my husband is mad, why? I said (cont)

I haven’t seen my partner in over a year due to covid and I know his family is going to want to do a family trip once restrictions are lifted to go visit him overseas. (He is in the army stationed in South Korea). Would it be wrong of me if I said I wanted to go alone and be with him by myself? I feel like that may make me look a tad bratty but I don’t want to spend time with his family all fighting for his attention.

Australia’s health department stated borders will most likely not open to international travelers at all this year and would most likely still require 2 weeks quarantine when they do next year. This was my one vacation I had planned right when covid hit and I was really hoping they’d open with vaccines so I could go in October, even March next year but even that seems an unlikely time to have a normal trip 🥺 i just really miss international travel

My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.
