Corporate senior assoc here. Last year a partner told me about an in-house opp with a client and phrased it as “don’t want you to take this but I know it’s up your alley so thought I’d float it past you as a matter of transparency” (and it felt like he meant that). This year, a different partner told me basically the same thing with another client, and it still felt sincere, but in thinking about it more… does it sound like they’re trying to push me out?

I'm honestly beyond discouraged. After a a year with the company and finding out I wasn't eligible for the merit bonus. I'm out of luck until spring 2023 or find a new job. I'm honestly discouraged all the way around. It's hard to continue going above and beyond when you got picked over someone who doesn't appear to do the same.

Last week I had a "culture fit" interview at Accenture. The interviewer was the partner of the team and it was the last step in the process.

A few details:

- he interviewed me while on holiday and he made several remarks about it during the conversation
- he kept his camera off
- he went on a 9min monologue about how hard is the job and how in Accenture there are more prestigious teams than the one I interviewed

Hello I just started my first job (I’m 22) and I need to set up a 401k for matching with my company. I’m really confused how this works because I want to try to hit the IRS maximum of $19,500 for Roth contributions this year. Maybe it’s too late in the year now, but it’s asking me to pick my desired contribution % per pay period, but I’m not sure how much to do because it says it’ll kick in 1-2 pay cycles and I don’t even know when the next pay check comes yet. Any tips would be great

For those of you who are currently working remote, what would it take to get you back in an office job? I am asking because I just turned down an offer that would have been a 10K bump from my current salary but the expectations are for me to be in the office with very little flexibility. I make up my own schedule in my current job for the most part so I feel like the pay increase doesnt make up for the lack of flexibility

Top 3 things you read for inspiration or just to know what’s going on beside the expected?

Has anyone put in their 2 weeks prior to their background check clearing for new job? I’ve already signed the offer letter, have a start date, and am basically just waiting on the BGC.

Per the new company’s HR department, and most of the internet, the agreed upon advice is to wait until it clears. For someone with a clean background (to my knowledge…haven’t even got a parking ticket knock on wood) is this just overkill…

I recently passed my LCSW exam and I am waiting to receive my official licensure information in the mail. I interviewed for a position that requires the LCSW and received an offer to start as an MSW and eventually adjust my salary once my licensure and credentialing is completed. They gave me the salary for MSW level however, they said they could not tell me what the salary bump for LCSW would be until i have my license number. Is this standard practice for a LCSW position in a clinic?

Riiiight. 'Cause everyone knows there's never been any "big idea thinking" in TV spots. I know she means they need CDs who are well-rounded and have more than just TV experience—social, digital, the tockety tikkk the kids love so much these days, etc—but this reeks of not-so-subtle ageism. And she could have easily said it more positively—“looking for tv, social, digital, well-rounded and multi-faceted portfolios” vs. preemptively slamming “just” TV. Poor form.

Currently have the FRM title.
I failed CFA level 3 once.

I'm hoping to eventually do CAIA, but only after I'm done with CFA. I'm also hoping to do non-financial certifications, like Certified analytics professional (CAP), and learn about web development.

While I may have the title of manager, I am still an individual contributor. The type of work I do involves quantitative analysis/data analysis/science.

Any suggestions as to what I should start with?
