How are you all staying motivated to keep working out during quarantine. I started off really strong and have just fallen off the wagon with the thoughts of not being normal until the end of the year. Trying to stay motivated and positive, but really struggling.

I find it easy to mark in my journal the days I’ve worked out to keep myself accountable. Also highly recommend checking in with a friend who is also into fitness!

I think of the negative consequences it will have on my body if I don’t workout: weight gain, localized pain, little movement in my joints, being stiff.... I don’t want any of that, so I work out. I kind of see it as medicine for my body.

Hi everyone, I am 4 days into my IUI process. I also recently found out that my UTI was not a UTI but instead Ureaplasma. My husband also tested positive.
We are waiting to hear back from the fertility specialist but I wanted to see if anyone has had this experience, or any knowledge. I’m nervous that the antibiotics will affect my ability to conceive, but just as nervous ureaplasma will make it difficult as well. I can wait until next month and start over but I really don’t want to. Any advice

It’s in the middle of the night so the perfect opportunity to share my story. I was diagnosed with MSH6 Lynch Syndrome in 2017. In order to be proactive I decided to get a full hysterectomy 3 years ago. Because of this I was forced into surgical menopause. I started on Estradiol patches for awhile then moved to a topical cream now am on the pills. Initially Premarin but due to increasing prices I’m back on Estradiol. I don’t sleep very well, still get hot flashes, and experience highs & lows.

I've been following the Supreme Court mess all weekend, and it makes me not want to live in the US anymore. I was raised in a very conservative household and, as a mom, the idea of avoidable abortions makes me incredibly sad. When I was diagnosed, I struggled to find any info out there on adults and workplace etc. Thinking of setting up just a blog space for people’s stories, anonymously. If anyone’s happy to tell their story or an experience that might be useful lmk. Happy to provide a framework of questions so you don’t have to write a think piece... could be how it impacts work, advances your work, learnings from medication, learnings from stress, how you tell people, etc - anything that could help others!

Someone in my firms bowl just wrote about needing to pass a drug test. Out of 40 replies mine was the only one to say, ‘Get the help you need’ ... we use substances (pick your poison) to mask feelings and emotions. They all recommended ways to treat the symptom (request different engagement, stall it out, fake urine, etc). MAGIC SLEEK UPDATE !!!!
Finally pulled the trigger on it. It seemed to work for my healthy hair but for the overly damaged bits it did not seem to work. Also I think the high heat from flat ironing during the procedure put the damaged hairs over the edge. Going to go back to the salon and see if there’s anything they can do. Anyone else have this happen? Just for some context I’ve been bleaching my hair for years and as a result it can’t really handle high heat

So something crazy happened to me last week. I was at the airport, and as usual on call after call. The check in line was going ridiculously slowly and at some point turned threw my hands up in frustration while looking around to find another place to check in. In doing so, I catch the eye of the behind me. He smiles and says something. I just sort of nod and carry on with my call. After that, he keeps trying to talk to me, eventually I got to the check, say bye and leave. At security… tbc

Am I the only 1 that is just tired of all the activism? It’s not that I don’t agree with many of the causes or that I see Change is Needed and Action is Required to achieve it. It’s just I’m exhausted from the extreme passion of activism that seems to be never ending in the current era. It just seems like every conversation I have with any friends they are passionately pursuing a mission of activism they want me to jump on board with them on and I’m just tired.

Additional Posts in Staying Healthy

I’ve had back pain, either in lower back or sciatic nerve for the past 8 months. I got released from physical therapy around the holidays because I was making improvements and wasn’t in pain. However, since returning to work and working busy season hours it’s difficult to stay seated for most of the day. I bought a standing desk, but was wondering if anyone has any suggestions? I need to make some serious changes as I’m 27 and should not have this much back pain so young 😢

Appreciate any practical recommendations, maybe eat more on days I workout?
