WFH for the next 2 weeks. I love working from home vs driving 35 min into the office and paying for a dog walker. We used to be able to work from home 2 times a month, but my manager recently took it away. So this kinda feels like a win. Just hope my computer doesn't decide to randomly stop working

like

Exactly! I think it’s an age thing where we should clock in or something. I’m on the independent side so weird it bothers her. I do not work for her.

Wfh for two weeks now and the only life I have is my professional one. I don’t have anywhere to be, or scheduled things to do outside of work, so putting in even more hours keeps me busy, makes the time go by. Spend a lot of time looking at memes on IG so it’s not like I’m an example of productivity...

Full WFH implemented today; trying to balance working and Netflix

Aren’t we all

Is anyone else finding it hard to know when to cut off from work when wfh? I feel like my work life balance is now worse coz it’s like there’s this expectation of answering emails earlier in the morning and late emails too!

like

Yea I’ve generally been online even longer hours...no commute, my computer is always there, not much else to do.

like

I’m excited about how much money I’m going to save on transport and food everyday and all that impulse spending that happens after a stressful day!

like

I’m going to spend it all on bar tabs in one week once normal life resumes.

like

Fine with it but I’m afraid how things will be in 4 weeks form now

like

Yeahh, I’m concerned what if the economy is so bad that they have to get rid of our jobs?

Wfh and trying to stay focused to not freak out...stocked up on groceries, plenty of cat food, all streaming services up and running. As long as the internet doesn’t collapse I’ll survive.

like

Still super busy. Worried about gaining weight. Can’t wait for slightly better weather in NYC so I can go for runs.

like

I ran the NYC Marathon last year, so I guess I’ll start training early?

like

Day 1 of WFH. Great to get the extra sleep and avoid the commute stress but I do miss seeing coworkers around the office that I don’t work directly with. Good to see all of our tech is up and running though

like

Do you not have rituals in the company? Push for it with your fave group. It can really help keeping the socials going alongside work regardless if fully remote.

like

WFH, stocked up on canned food and pasta, trying to stay healthy and talk walks around my apartment, FaceTiming, and using the time I would’ve been commuting to read and meditate!

I won my first warzone game!

This week marked the start of WFM for us. I haven't done jack shit. Cracked the laptop, put it on the floor next to my bed, and occasionally hit the track pad with my toe to stay "active" on Microsoft Teams.

Not a lot of work flow right now in PE?

Wfh from today. I usually wfh once a week so it won’t be anything new, I guess just have to keep the manager reassured that I’m working... they micro manage so they need that reassurance. I’m lucky my job does not require me to be in the office, just a good internet connection!

like

What’s your role?

Wfh (we’ve always been flexible workplace company tho), but my introverted flatmates feel the urge to socialise these days and that makes me think I’m safer in our 20 person office with nobody around ...

like

Been at home for 2.5 weeks already and was notified last night that all North American and European offices are hard closed (ie passes will be disabled) until mid April. We’re in this for the long haul!

like

Haha I like this coz there’ll always be that one person that refuses to wfh and tries to go in!

like

WFH today, our company VPN went down 3-4 times and with how the market were going didn’t really get anything done.

like

Today we had our first day globally wfh - connectivity issues abound. Spent most of my day on my blackberry with no laptop access.

like

Working from home. NOT a fan- miss my 3 computer screens, office work atmosphere and my coworkers. Ordered a peloton earlier, need to keep moving during these indoor times.

like

WFH for the fourth week (based in Italy). Trying to keep a routine and going out for a run early in the morning has kept me from going stir-crazy. I miss my coworkers, but we have coffee "together" in the afternoon so that helps.

Opinions needed: I’m involved in BPN (black professionals network) at work. We try to have events and touch points each quarter, but obviously because of COVID we haven’t been able to do so. I am trying to brainstorm ideas for connecting virtually (email newsletters, zoom calls, etc) and possible topics to be included and discussed so that it won’t end up in just a negative venting session. I would like to keep it positive and upbeat. Ideas/suggestions welcome!

Just read the sad news of the death of 1st AD John Nolan. (See wheresspot for thread) While I hope be didn't contract Covid on either of the 2 sets mentioned prior to his illness and death, if it comes back that he did, we need to have a long hard chat about what went wrong. Condolences to his family. Truly horrible news.

What are the best virtual tools for CM? I've used intuition and visual assessment prior to COVID. Now we find we need to more trust on how the client views the change needed (or not recognizing the need).

We are visiting my in laws for Christmas. My husband and I got our covid test but then my husband wanted our toddler to also get a covid test. I refused to let someone take a giant swab and inserting this down my toddlers throat. If my kid has Covid -I’m sure we would have it too. This was a huge scene when I refused.

I live in a tiny studio apartment and lately have been feeling so trapped. Quarantine has made me hate my space, even though I used to love it. I signed a new lease for a large 1BD but that starts November. I usually take walks when I feel this way but lately the weather’s been so shit that I literally just drove around in a storm in my car for 20 mins. Came back and feeling restless and the trapped feeling again. I called a few friends to get my mind off it but any other tips to cope?
