There is so much information coming in from email,CDC and the media of all types. It is like information overload. I agree a little each day goes a long way. Have been binge watching anything that is not related.

like

Meditation, yoga and social media hiatus (except for this)

Limiting news/media to 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the evening and only talking about COVID 19 if it’s operations necessary. Everything in moderation especially stress. Our pts are terrified by this virus as well as our co workers and there is only so much worry a body can take so downtime not just physically but also mentally. We hold an operations briefing every morning at the start of our shift to update us on any new protocol or policy and unless we are actively on a run we are trying to go on with life as usual in the station to give our minds a break

With the weather getting better and things opening up, I feel the pressure to do things. I was social before covid and had a set of friends, but most of my friends moved out of town (not coming back) and I feel like I’ve lost my socializing skills. I feel like I’m not cool enough for the city and I get sad when I don’t have plans for the weekend. Feeling lonely/ a bit depressed/ sad about it. Anyone feeling the same? I am putting efforts to socialize, but it just doesn’t feel the same.

Do you think restaurants/eateries will close in the fall/winter if there’s a resurgence of high COVID cases again? Don’t care to dine in, but would order take out or delivery. I’m moving to an area with great restaurants nearby and I’d like to continue supporting and getting food from those places at least once a week while I can afford to.

Being an ACD that’s over 40, I feel people wonder why am I not a CD or ECD yet. I was a late bloomer in advertising, didn’t aggressively chase advancement, and made the mistake of staying at agencies way too long, so I climbed up slowly.

Cross posting this but could use the female perspective — Got a really substantial (~40%) mid year raise after I brought in a basically unsolicited competing offer from one of our peers. My firm typically only adjusts salary on an annual basis in March, and I’m pretty worried I’ll see a smaller than normal annual raise this spring to “make up for” my out of sequence mid year raise. Any advice on advocating for myself to ensure that doesn’t happen?
