How bad is it to reach out to your client for a job opportunity?

It's very normal for clients to hire former consultants. In fact it's usually better for them, because they have previous exposure to your work and they know they can trust the references that come for your consulting leaders since they too have worked with them. But there are likely sensitivities around how you pursue the opportunity, and at some point you will likely need to tell the consulting leaders who own the client relationship.

Also interested. Why not?

I’m wondering as well. My Client is a FAANG...

Can’t you just ask vaguely? Eg. How often do positions come open in your group? Any new hiring plans in the near future? What do you look for in a hire? -> plausible deniability

Thank you 🥺♥️

Need some advice - been at the D for a year and have been on the same implementation project for over a year. Have a technical background and am thinking of starting to look for exits to industry but also am curious what strategy projects are and if I would be interested in the work. Is it worth networking onto a strategy project at the D or should I just continue to look for industry exists and then go b school and then try for MBB/T2 ?

Trouble networking virtually; I started recently, 3 months ago. I am not sure how projects/internal moves work but I was wondering if anyone has advice on networking virtually? I am finding it tricky because I don't know anyone apart from my team & I can't view Talent Marketplace because I am on a billable project, not sure how long it will go. I enjoy my work and not looking to move just yet, I wanted to see what else is out there and looking for opportunities to network with more people.

I’m a new manager and am trying to get off a client. Need guidance if I should do it. I work with a very nice senior manager who is up for partner. She gave me a very decent review. The client is horrible though. Piecemeal review comments, constant updates workpapers and last minute changes. The only good thing is working with this senior manager. She is also my counselor. I asked her to get off of this account, and she said the firm probably won’t allow it. I have another senior manager I work

I'm in final rounds w a large tech company (interview already scheduled), but I saw that the company just removed the job posting I'm applying for on their website. Does this mean they already selected a candidate and I'm wasting my time? Or does it mean they have enough candidate selection for the final round to where if I have an offer, I'm less able to negotiate since the company has a lot of back up candidates. First time leaving consulting so all of this is new to me.
