Not badly because I don’t care enough about this. Actually, I took a walk once because I was pretty heated. That’s it.

When you are dead inside you can’t get angry

I’ve only worked in advertising for 5 years but I already feel so dead inside that I can barely be bothered to be upset about anything

I purposely made fish at home everyday for a week just to reheat in the office the following day. Then I’d go out for lunch.

I thought I was going to end up on an episode of Snapped once — I nearly blacked out in an internal meeting.

We need context on this one.

Yeah, I’m for sure a cry-in-a-bathroom-stall kinda person. But I have certainly angrily walked to my car and cried there a few times too. Variety is the spice of life, ya know?

More than I’d care to admit. It’s not good. It’s never been personal, always about the work. But not acceptable these days.

Once raised my voice at a dickish vendor who made a habit of interrupting my feedback any time I paused halfway through a sentence to avoid stuttering.

My CD gave me a talking to and blamed it on my South American blood getting the best of me. For what it’s worth, I’m the child of European immigrants and just happened to be born in South America 😂

Happy to hear your journey has been better since then!! ❤️

Got pushed to the point of full on screaming in front of a floor full of people sitting at their desks once.

Hey, me too!

I once ran out the door and proceeded to run down to the end of the block and yell, then came back and went back to work like nothing happened.

likefunny

I’d say any point that I was so angry I had to go to the bathroom and silently cry.

I will say WFH I have only turned off my laptop and cried once. Definitely less intense emotions when things aren’t in person. Covid has been great for my mental health in that way, at least.

I haven’t but at my first gig I had a freelance cd just go at it to me. I looked at him and said I totally agree but I’m like at the bottom of the totem pole here so you’re telling the wrong person.

In the office, rarely. During WFH I got so mad I took some cheap ceramic bowls outside and threw them against a brick wall in my yard. Other than that I occasionally would say “you have to be fucking kidding me” out loud to my computer in an angry tone in the office. If I really get mad I just hold it in until I go home. I’m 99% cool headed but my temper is hardcore if I really snap - usually expressed with crying and cursing at no one.

As a freelancer I never get yelled at. EXCEPT that time as Publicis... OH MY GOD — I lost my temper and yelled back.

NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN

25 years in the bus and truly “lost” my temper exactly once. Really lit into someone more junior, for a very good reason, but I’ve always felt bad about it. I could have handled better.

I’ve been furious many many many times. But I handle it ok, generally. Better as I get older.

I never accidentally lose my temper. I am notoriously cool headed and try to frame everything positively. However today, I finally let myself do it. Because if you don’t protect your reputation you are lost.

I threw my work issued phone on the ground in a fit of rage, and watched it explode and shatter. I did this multiple times in fact - getting a new work phone each time. It was a blackberry, so... wouldn’t you have thrown it too?

Go to lunch and forget to come back is my favorite.

Somebody once implied I was too dumb to understand why my designs had to be implemented a certain way in dev, that it wasn’t “touchy feely” (I studied interactive/new media design in college, plus worked many years out of it) I knee jerk reacted with “you shut your mouth.” Was kinda stunned and actually a little proud my immediate response was so uhh polite. But this was also a high stress project with frustrating creative constraints so I’m sure we were all on the edge.

It's off school property and there will be a bar (thank god), for context.
