Bain and BCG I’d argue are the hardest interviews given that interviewee has to drive them forward. McKinsey was very challenging but having it be interviewer led was really nice. Our personal experience interview though is much harder than most given the depth/detail involved.
I could have done the EY interview in my sleep. I got an offer.
BCG interviews on the other hand had me doubting I have any worth as a human. Brutal.
Same time. Parallel interviews with them, McK and Gartner.
I found BCGs interview to be the easiest. It was super conversational and barely felt like a case. I made some math mistakes and nobody cared. Deloitte seemed super rigid and I was very much aware of how fake and staged this all was
Compared to Deloitte, S&, etc for MBA recruiting, would say interviews themselves are very similar. The bar is probably higher but there is still a lot of randomness in terms of who ends up at which firm
Ya I felt all the interviews were mostly structured the same way.
My BCG interview was much tougher than my Deloitte interview. The case study was much more complex and the overall vibe was a more stressful.
I think Deloitte S&O, Strategy&, and Parthenon-EY interviews are just slightly less complicated/lower expectations than. MBB interviews. However Deloitte Advisory, PwC MC/TC/RC, EY Advisory/TAS, and KPMG Advisory interviews were easier to pass and less complicated.
What’s the best way to get an interview at BCG for someone who has both industry and consulting experience?
Thank you.
