How big is the transition from Senior Associate to Manager. Is it a big deal?

Depends on what kind of things you did as a Senior Associate.

like

Mostly was the senior for engagements. Nothing else. I guess as a M I'd be handling a portfolio of clients. I was wondering if it's better to stay as M or leave as SA.

Senior to manager has been the hardest transition for me in my career thus far

oh sweet. that pretty insightful. thanks alot m1 and am1

It comes with the biggest bump of pay in terms of percentage. So it is big deal apparently

not to move directly as a manager but a senior in advisory. apparently it's happened before. was curious of how hard it was

Hi! I'm looking at moving to a new role outside my organization. I'm seeing A LOT of interesting positions opening up with @Microsoft (Customer Success Manager, Account Executive, Sales Specialist etc). My experience and core strengths do align these roles but I don't have tech experience. If you’re a Microsoft recruiter or are currently in these roles I'd love to hear your feedback on transitioning to this space. I work for a large Fortune 500 company in the manufacturing space for reference

Hello 👋

After about 18 months of hustling, I’ve been offered my first AD role. My background is in engineering so for what feels like forever I’ve been building (and rebuilding) my book with creative work and it’s finally paid off 🎉

I want to hit the ground running so I’m trying to learn as much as possible before I start.

Can anyone recommend some books, shows, talks, social accounts etc that I can learn from?

Thank you!

I️ am going into my junior year at Babson College studying IT and Operations. I️ have done a strategy internship, data operations internship and a web3 creator internship all at startups. I️ know basics of python and sql. I️ am planning on doing the Google PM cert. I️ am hoping to get a big tech product management internship for next summer. Any advice on steps to take? I️ am particularly nervous since I️ have no PM experience and my GPA is only a 3.5, however I️ am heavily involved on campus.

I countered with a recruiter and they responded to my concerns and questions with “don’t worry about PTO days, I don’t even take them”, “you’re focused on the wrong things” (when speaking about health insurance costs), “I can’t see them going for that (my counter), let me see your experience again, 10 years hm”, “it’s really not an apples to apples comparison, this is a really good offer, don’t focus on that other stuff”. Don’t do this! I was leaning towards taking the job and now I may pass.
