Is CTS retaining employees now?
Hi all! I am former federal government. I resigned due to lack of opportunities and growth. I am interested in a couple of Apple service roles within Pay, Care and SDS. Also, Amazon PM roles under Music, Live Sports and Brand Protection. However, with to the current economic conditions is it smarter to focus on fed roles versus Tech. I’ve never had a Tech role. I have a BS Mechanical Engineering and MBA. Any advice would be appreciated.

Finished interviewing for an ATS role at Microsoft Wednesday. The interviewers said they were recommending me but I haven’t gotten any feedback from the recruiter. I’m at PwC S& and in consulting I always got at least a verbal yes day of or next day after interviewing. Does anyone know how long this usually takes? Do you get a verbal first or do they wait to have a contract?

Standard practice. You should consider it just like the questions about race, gender, etc. Like those questions, this data helps track representation in hiring-related decisions.
Meeting diversity quotas is directly tied to executive promotion/bonus decisions at many firms. Most are sex/race/etc based today, but LGBT is not unheard of.
It seems very inappropriate, something they shouldn’t touch. It would make me nervous, not sure if I’d apply.
Most companies ask this nowadays. If it bothers you to disclose you can usually opt out, just like the disability and veteran stuff.
There’s an option to not self identify but I just don’t think this is information employers either should be asking for or have any right to know.
