How can a consultant shift into banking?

I’m thinking about starting my own agency. I have been freelancing on the side over the past two-and-half years as a CD and Marketer. In that time, I have worked with 4 agencies and 3 companies repeatedly. 20 additional hours a week has been about as much as I can do, alone. But if I had more people I could handle more work and probably secure retainers.

For those who have done it, how did you start your agency or consulting firm? What were the first steps you took?

Reposting from HR bowl: I’ve heard there is a hiring boom, especially for L&D roles. I was let go recently from a toxic environment (removed the company from everything) after only 4 days of work. I’m actively job searching but not receiving ideal hits. I see a lot of senior level L&D roles but not as many for specialist roles, specifically in tech. I have 5.5 years of experience. Any advice for me? I’m also seeking therapy for the trauma & coping, now ready for securing that next role!

Just a thought that dawned on me this morning. Don’t be afraid to try new jobs or lines of service early in your career. If you aren’t happy with what you are doing at the moment, can you imagine not being happy with what you are doing for 40+ more years (I’m 25)?

I recently left public accounting to join a start up. I don’t have too many connections in this world yet, does anyone have recommendations for either articles, books or other sources of information I could use to get an understanding of the startup world and how I can make the right career choices moving forward. - *I’m on the product manager side*

Are companies starting to require hybrid schedules? I'm waiting to hear from a potential remote opportunity that's located in another state and I'm not looking to relocate at all. A friend shared that they were offered a position for a role that was suppose to be remote however when the offer was extended, the company asked informed that the position had changed to hybrid. Hi there, I’m wondering if it’s worth it to get the CFA, if so, what career moves would you make and what positions to look for/apply? I have the Series 7, 66, 9/10, health and life insurance, did an accreditation program for private wealth advisor through my current work, studying for the CFP to sit for the exam sometime in 2023 and have the MBA. Is IB worth the sacrifice of WLB? Obvious pay is really good but are the prestige and pay worth it if you’re planning on only doing it for a couple years?

Currently working at an IRA with great WLB. Honestly I love my job, the firm, and people I work with.
