Please don't. Unless we really hit it off and had a lot on common, then occasional once /twice a year is fine. But otherwise just add me on LinkedIn and reach out years from now when you want a referral. Don't ruin the good impression I have of you by being annoying.

Depends on your relationship with the people you are trying to maintain connections with. If they consider you a peer ( ie other interns, analysts, maybe some chill associates) you can be more informal and treat it from a friends perspective. With higher up people shooting a check-in email or text every few months should work. Content is more important than methodically messaging every few months, though. Actually have a reason to message them. If you can add some value too ie some info they would find interesting, a story that is relevant to them, etc. that’s always nice.
If you do it more often than once a year it will look like you’re hitting on them.

Oof good to know... I may or may not have already exceeded the quota😂
If you mean people who are in more leadership roles, 2-4 times per year at most, and make sure you have something interesting to share - I hate showing up for a meeting like that and I am the one trying to find things to talk about. If you have nothing to share, ask some good questions Bout things I will want to talk about. Low end of that scale for people where the relationship was purely professional, can got 3-4 times if you felt you also hit it off personally, have common interests, etc.

Hi Intern, so I usually just text my previous co-workers now and then to catch up. Can't do coffee and stuff since I moved to a different country. Other then that, use social media. Just think of them as friends.

Prob a good idea to do it before your first official day. Not expected for any in between.
