How Can I break Into a Long Only Hedge Fund?

I am interested in breaking into the buy side. and specifically, a long-only hedge fund as that fits more of my investment thesis. I have experience working at a Series C tech start up and was at accenture for 2 years in tech strategy.

I am currently working as a financial advisor for a wealth management firm. I feel like I would rather be in less of a commission role and am not sure I love this niche in the business field. If I were to go to corporate business/finance, I was thinking about starting as a business analyst. Me: M7 MBA, 8 YOE, including in industry operations and T2 strategy consulting

Them: MM PE buyout fund, no specific industry focus. Most recent fund $2.5B+, AUM $5B+

Role: VP of Operations, joining an Ops team that will be ~10 people total top to bottom

Offer: $200 base, $150 bonus, and ‘carry’ that is actually just a deal performance-based cash payment that is awarded to non-carry individuals (cont)
