Have any of you thought about parking some of your emergency funds in a muni bond (tax exempt) etf? I have ~1yrs worth of cash in High yield checking/savings accounts (2% interest), but am in the top tax bracket and am worried about the tax drag. So after dealing my boyfriend’s bigoted father try to “discuss” politics with us for five years, he’s finally realizing the toxicity and is distancing himself.

Although I am happy because I think it will be long-term better for both of our mental sanity. He definitely has days where he gets down and frustrated (he’s Latino so family is really core to his identity). Anyone go through anything similar with their partner and could share advice on how to be supportive?

Is this normal? I found out I am ineligible for a raise because I was hired 2 weeks after the cutoff. The company only does raises once a year, and if you're hired after a set date that year you cannot get a raise. I feel my situation/performance so far deserve recognition, but I am told I am ineligible for an increase until the next cycle, which would be 1 year from now, 1.5 years after starting. Is this normal for most companies in tech?

My friend received two job offers for Account Executive roles: a Mid-Market role with Confluent and an Enterprise role with ThoughtSpot. He’s conflicted because Confluent is a more established company, ThoughtSpot is Pre-IPO. Confluent is a lucrative product to sell and has established SDR reps so there’s a good blend of inbound and outbound sales. Thoughtspot is more of a startup culture where most of the sales comes from outbound and it’s a tougher sell.
