As someone who’s worked at the “cool” shops - seriously, don’t book a ticket to Boulder for the off chance of meeting an ad guy, and working for free. It’s a job. A cool job...but the coolness wears off eventually.
Are you dong_draper?
OP like seriously why? Meeting your idols is always a let down. Concentrate on the ones who work hard on the daily who aren't personalities. He's a glorified salesman.

How can I get a date with Natalie Portman? Seriously tho maybe tweet something at him (make sure it’s super clever/original), or comment on an IG post of his or CPB’s and express your interest and most important WHY THE HELL Alex would ever meet with you out of the thousands of ad peeps who’d love 10 min of his time.
I’ve heard whispers that he’s actually Keyser Soze
Can’t offer any suggestions, but check out this recent podcast interview with him. It highlights his return to the industry and offers some nuggets / insights into the man behind the madness:

He’s a changed man so this might give you a solid idea of what he’s all about now, if you actually want to work there, and any jumping off points for accomplishing your task.
CD1 - do you really think it’ll haunt her forever? I mean don’t get me wrong, I agree it was gimmicky and not really that creative. Just attention grabbing for attentions sake.
But I do think that a stunt, when executed intelligently and truly creatively can do a lot to get you noticed in the crowd.
For the people who could guess his personal email, he would often give advice, meet for coffee or refer for roles. That was a few years ago
Things have changed quite a bit since Alex’s time. You may not get the answers you’re looking for.
Colorado can be kinda rural, so it shouldn’t be hard to fashion a crude hut in the wilderness while you await that first paycheck.
And “stunts” like showing up at someone office are no longer cute, they’re stalk-y. Even that woman who dressed up like Fearless Girl, sure she got press and an interview, but she’ll always be fighting the notion that she got the job on a gimmick. She may be super talented and smart and kind, probably is, but still...
If being a white rapper can get you a job at w+k...
@CD1 maybe it's me but your post sounded a bit jelly
^ definitely. But in a time when getting into a shop is challenging for the average junior, a well executed stunt distinguishes you from your peers and shows personality.
👆 Hoping that’s a joke OP?
On the off chance you actually did follow through with it I think it’s imperative you go all in.
Don’t just show up. Do something clever. Document your journey. Bring something new to the table. The dudes seen it all and he’s back after an 8 year hiatus. What could you possibly do that would catch his eye and get you a meeting?
Good luck.
Ha not “jelly” (jealous too long to type out, I guess) but unless she does some great work or makes a real impact at her agency sooner than most, I just think her colleagues—one’s who likely didn’t get noticed via stunt, perhaps got in via paying ad school tuition or working their asses off—may start to side-eye her as in “okay, you’re in now prove you belong.” Just my 2cents, I do admire her originality and creativity on her stunt.
There you go
It was really a rhetorical question. But I'm almost considering buying a plane ticket to Boulder now just to try to get an internship there
Cheap stunts shouldn't over shine middling work.
