My manager would train me, then do it herself and show me exactly what she expects from me, then give me a week or two to learn and improve from there. Can you ask for an example of what he wants to see and some time so he can give specific feedback and maybe train you on where he expects something else? Approach this from a "I'm trying to learn and perform, so please show me what you expect" perspective

Two important parts to PPT - storyline and precision. What's the story you're trying to tell? And slide-to-slide, are there glaring mistakes/oddball context or formatting that would distract you from the rest of the preso? Should be a coordinated dance end-to-end. It's a shame your manager won't give you the time of day to walk you through what he's looking for. One of my favorite parts of managing/mentoring is passing on my tips and tricks, and even learning a few new ones along the way.

Ask for better feedback. That's not very actionable feedback on your manager's part... you first need to understand what part of ppt your manager feels is the weakest.

1) Find someone who's PowerPoints he likes and ask to see some. Compare and contrast with yours. Ask that person for feedback and ways to improve. 2) Let your Counselor know about this. 3) Find a new project. That manager sounds like a loose cannon. If he will roll you off for bad ppts without support, he will do it for something else later.

Basic question (I don't mean to offend) - Have you started with storyboarding? From recruiting recollection, D likes horizontal and vertical logic.

Lets break this problem down into messaging and style Messaging can be improved by reading the pyramid principle by minto. Or you can improve it by watching Firmsconsultings video on this Https://www.firmslconsulting.com/complimentary-videos/storyboard/ I recommend that latter for messaging. As for style....i recommend the book slide(ology) by duarte

No offense taken, I took the class at W2DC, and thought it was pretty straightforward. OP, set up a burner email so I can get your name and send you some templates / best of class slides.

Give him a handjob and the poor slides will quickly be forgotten. If ur not comfortable with this and have 'boundary' issues then make sure you develop storyboards, that your taglines are insightful and follow from the content and that collectively the tag lines tell a story...
