How can I get in with corporate without the proper experience?

I was paralegal assistant for 2 years at a PI firm, got my paralegal AA degree, promoted to lit paralegal. I have about 10 months of lit experience. I love the experience and I love my boss for teaching me the ropes, but my heart's not in PI. I'm more interested in contract law and the transcational side. I want to be able to learn more and I feel like I need to start now.

Plenty of entry corporate paralegal positions out there. Where are you located? My firm is looking for paralegal I and II in a few different cities- and we train.

@ Senior Paralegal 1, it says "You can't start a chat with this user" perhaps your profile is private. If you click on the profile on this comment, it should give you the option to initiate a conversation with me. Thank you.

As a corporate paralegal I made it within at 3 years (25 year old here) into in house corporate. I went into a firm that made me overwork (without good pay) while getting a paralegal certificate but taught me so many skills that made me valuable into big law. I made connections into big law and still pursued to gain new skills. Corporate will ask about everything you know regardless of field but ask what you don’t know so they can train you.
For me what helped is stating every tiny thing I know into my resume such as filings, filing rules, calendaring deadlines that you know of, being open to getting trained, stating every document server being used (imanage, netdocs), etc. Go through job listings what they required and connect to what you have done similarly.

Are you looking to get involved at in-house or at a law firm? Two very different sides of corporate.

Is it possible for someone without a degree or tech experience to get a fully remote entry level SDR or BDR role? If so, how? My sister’s boyfriend was fairly successful at a call center a few years ago but has only worked low wage jobs since. Any steady job would be a step up. My current employer wants 2+ YOE in a “professional environment” for the BDR role, which would likely be a barrier even with a referral.

I’m a tax senior 1 (will be a senior 2 in October) and just got an offer with a 26% raise at a large public company on their provision team. There’s also an aspect of FP&A and helping with transactions so not strictly tax. All seems super interesting and the team seems great. I feel like I just keep taking on small bits of information/skills but never get specialized. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go from here or been in a similar situation?

Thank you for your insight.

Aussie 🐠 here. Be aware that when you see clips/photos of the Sydney central station pepper spray, the police were blocking the main exits and corralling people to platforms 15 & 16 before they started spraying.
I’ve seen a lot of media portray it as “people who refused to leave after the peaceful LEGAL protest finished” (implying that this was illegal and not peaceful) but... why were they at central station then? Maybe they were waiting for trains to go home?

Reunited with an ex and things moved very fast with the two of us spending a lot of time and nights together but we waited to consummate the “relationship”. Recently, he shared that he wasn’t in a position to be in a relationship right now and felt like he didn’t have enough to offer me but he cared deeply for me and was very attracted to me. Admittedly, he isn’t financially well-off and is heading back to school to finish his degree (we’re in our 30s) but it still hurts a lot.
