Paypal Hello, I've been offered Data engineer /Software Engineer at PayPal, india.
How's the company doing, is it profitable? Bit skeptical about the recent layoffs at PayPal.
Any data engineers at PayPal around? Whats your thoughts, how's the team doing and how would be the growth?

Yeah should have waited to do a full time MBA at a top program. But given what’s in motion already, try to go IB when your MBA is done. You’ll likely not land at a top firm (a small regional boutique is probably your best bet) and will start as an analyst vs associate, but that could work in your favor. Then I’d target LMM funds
OP went to UF, could probably target RayJ in Tampa.
Best bet it is to try to go into investment banking as an analyst then make the switch after two years. It’s pretty difficult to make the jump from consulting to PE deal team unless you’re at MBB
Yeah I’d say it’s a decent shot for middle market funds. Every deal I’ve been on has hired one of those firms for diligence work so a good amount of credibility
What MBA program took you at 22-23? Unless it is SS or you are in HBS 2+2, not a great move.
Silver Scholars at YSOM. Yeah I would be dubious too, but one never knows if it was a previous internship or if tge candidate is a URM
Online program only required 1 year vs 2. What do you recommend
Going back in time and not doing an online MBA. You should have waited to do a T10 after 3-5 years. How far in are you? I'd seriously consider dropping the program.

Where did you go for undergrad?
UF or? Either way you need a better brand on your resume than UF-EY-Online MBA
Reading the above, I would target regional PE shops in the Florida area. You need to do a lot of networking. UF network must be large enough to have some alumni in these types of shops.
It’ll be one of those right time right place roles. You’re young enough that you can probably find some small shop to take an entry level analyst and show them the ropes.
This is probably your best bet with your current situation to get into PE.

Not all funds are opening shop in Miami. That’s just one destination albeit the most attractive for a single individual :)
