Australian who has worked across 9 different countries for the same global company, and now in the US.. My advice.. Stop spending time on fish bowl - instead travel, enjoy life, network and global work can also happen along the way..
I appreciate this advice, coming from industry knowledge and lived experience, but I literally don’t know where to start looking. Is there any chance you could share the name of a specific company? (Somewhere to start my research?)

You could serve your country 🤓
Serve your country and you’ll see the world!
Or at least parts of a state you’ve never wanted to visit and countries that are too hot.
Following because I am desperate for this

Work for a company with an HQ outside of your location and a very small presence in your region. Chances are, you’ll need to visit HQ occasionally.
This. Or for an organization with a few international locations but not too many (15 max maybe) so chances are when they host internal summits or other events they'll fly folks out to one location. My last employer flew the entire U.S. staff to Barcelona. I worked in the U.K. and got to go to Dallas, the Nordics, Germany and CEE.
Flight attendant/pilot at a major airline?
It also takes more than a decade to get enough seniority to work most international flights.

Most average joe's I know who are white collar and travel internationally work for Manufacturing companies, and require travel to their company's plants that are worldwide
I used to travel internationally for work a lot - before BCG. It’s not a glamorous as you’re thinking it is. You often fly into country XYZ only to sit in a conference room all week. You don’t see the country. The best way to see the world? 1) move abroad. 2) stop spending money on things like expensive clothes and meals. Instead save that and go on great vacations.
