Tried the wsb for a month with an account of 10k. Turned it to 3k and then back to 12k and now at 10.2k. Clearly doesn’t work for me - surprised I have made some money hahaha

I’m pretty familiar with options and stocks but I’ll never hit consistently with big otm calls. Use options for covered calls or csp all the time

Honey, you need to accept the truth that this will only help you in short term. Be patient, add more hobbies to your list, learn to say ‘No’ which doesn’t bring joy to you, help others, diversify you weekends to experience something new, don’t take a Big Bang approach. Life is a marathon, we can’t be happy or content sprinting it. You can’t rush through the life, this universe won’t allow you to do that! 🤗😊

I know and appreciate this advice! But I literally hate work (tried banking, industry, consulting) it all sucks hahaha. I just want to acquire enough money that my money makes me money and I can just chill comfortably

Start a business. Or buy one. Doesn’t even have to be a fancy tech. Look into a franchise or a small business for sale in your area.

$10M is a lofty goal. Perhaps move the goal post a bit closer so you can hit FIRE quicker.... for reference a 4% ‘safe’ withdrawal rate on 10M is $400,000 per year. You can probably do with half of that amount and live comfortably. $5M isn’t unobtainable, but will take some planning, luck, and frugality. Or just yolo weeklies on $BB or $GME if you want. Works for some people.

like

Haha weeklies won’t do it for me. And yeah 10m is aggressive but plan to put kids through schools and want to be real comfortable if possible

What if you die before? Live your life man

Agree but unfortunately - this life requires money. Without it, life becomes a lot harder. Fortunate I have a job that pays me well and money is on the lower list of concerns

Join a startup. Don’t do consulting lol

What are you doing at instacart? I am about to join a series d AI company valued at 800

Why not launch a startup and exit with $10 M, how hard can it be?

Lol..you are just lazy

If you hate working, it's always easier to control for your cost of living than to depend on a big nest egg that takes years and years to achieve (if ever).

Ya you need to move somewhere where it's cheaper to live. Like the Midwest. Actually have play money. Then you won't be so miserable.

I feel you OP. Literally every job I’ve done I’d rather not have worked instead...and this includes flying fighter jets and cool shit. It’s all work. Don’t have any actual advice other than a walk in the woods and some bourbon usually cures most concerns.

Looking for some advice. Currently contributing 10% to 401k and maxing out Roth IRA, and remainder of savings (usually $800-$1200 per month) putting in a HYSA for a down payment on a house. Hoping to buy in 2-3 years once we (partner & I) have a sizable down payment. Should I continue to put all my non-retirement savings in an HYSA for a downpayment or should I also contribute to my brokerage and invest to grow wealth? (24yo, $85k)

As someone with a background in the military, is it worth it to try to go back to the government as a tax analyst or senior tax analyst for the Dept of the Treasury? I'm wondering if I'll have an edge in getting hired as I've been at the GS-13 level before I left the military and I'm hoping I can use that time in service to add to a pension time requirement in the government.
