Anyone suddenly have to step up into a provider role in your early 20’s and have advice on how to deal with the added stress on your shoulders. Very intense on myself performance/ error wise and extra tough on my subordinates below me as I can’t have them be the reason I am at risk of losing my job. Context Dad passed 3 months ago and now my role is to step into my dad’s role providing financially for our 3 poor grandparents outside of the country.

Thoughts on Dentsu Aegis? I've received an offer for a role (promotion) and thinking about whether it is a sound move - especially in this environment. They went through furloughs and pay cuts in April due to COVID. I'd be making the move from EY which is a great company to work with - but there is such a long line up to get a promotion, and for roles I've interviewed for internally I get the good ole - you were awesome and it was rly close, but someone was just a better fit.

I’ve been faking happiness for 5+ years and don’t know how to truly be happy. Have an awesome wife, 🐶, 🏡, in a great group at EYP, work is fulfilling, mid 30’s, family income $350k+, both of us have MBA’s - there shouldn’t be anything wrong. I’m a former intel case officer and interrogator that spent a lot of time working with Tier 1&2 operators overseas in high tempo ops and was very well decorated during my ~13Y of service. I do struggle with PTSD at times, but that’s expected w/ former life.

I’m just throwing this out there and I think it might be a common thought. I’m a mom of two (ages 5 and 3) and work full time out of the house in government making $103K. Job is not flexible in that it’s 8-5 with an hour lunch break butt in chair in the office work. Zero options to deviate or work from home. I have a 30-40 minute commute each way. My position is being eliminated due to headcount requirements (not performance related) after being in-house for 1 year. Total of 6 years in tax law.
