@deloitte2. Climate change does not literally mean that people are concerned that temperatures of a certain day/period can't show correlation with data from a period of time 10, 20, or 100 years ago. Climate change refers to an irreversible shift in the global climate which affects the climate and environment/life on the planet. Due to increased carbon emissions which are trapped in the atmosphere, we are now seeing dramatic shifts in our environment on earth. Global temperatures have now officially risen 1 degree Celsius above the 1880-1889 average (used as a standard guideline). The increasing temperature has led to a global sea level increase of 8 inches in the last century, sea temperature increase of .03 degrees in the last 30 years, and the Arctic ice sheets are losing more than 36 cubic miles per year. -data obtained from nasa.com
Global warming is a misnomer. Climate change is a more accurate title and it's very real, as evinced by the increase in travel delays you mention due to unpredictable weather

The problem with this post is that flights being delayed is being blamed on climate change. This problem isn't unique. Flights have been delayed since commercial air travel started. Climate change is real but there is no proof that it was climate change instead of normal weather fluctuations that caused the flight delays.
PwC 1, a little advice, only a pompous blowhard would actually say all republicans are stupid.
The flight delays have far more to do with the huge amount of people flying and an antiquated flight control system than changes in weather
To assume the weather has changed enough in 15 years to greatly affect your travel is overlooking other factors. The delays probably have more to do with increased litigation and regulation of the aviation industry. I agree climate is changing but organisms have been negatively affecting the climate for hundreds of millions of years. 15 years, although human impact has increased exponentially, is probably not enough time to make a measurable difference.
The climate has always changed, think ice ages. Mother Nature has a way of keeping the earth in check. This is not a new phenomenon, even though the media will have you freak out about it.....me, I enjoy the sunshine & wrap up warm when it is cold outside. Other than that I just go on my way.
@PwC1 why not be open to other opinions and beliefs even if you don't agree with them. Our diverse opinions make the world what it is...just because we disagree with someone doesn't make them stupid or idiots. Not all liberals or republicans are bigoted, stupid, idealistic, etc. many on both sides hold beliefs that would be well served if they could be debated without all the hostility we see now. As professionals we should be the adults, not the children.

EY, flights being delayed are a part of traveling. But as someone who travels a lot and for the past 15 years, there has been a definite uptick in delays due to extreme weather and unusual weather patterns
