Just leave and call it quits. If you can’t even do a tieout, you’re going to crash and burn and screw over your staff that you’re supposed to be teaching

like

I find FS tie out very difficult, and the quality of my work is even worse than Staff 1s. Not to mention project management, from planning to archiving. I have no clue at all.

Now I got promoted, I can’t fake anymore

likefunnysmart

I straight up tell my staff I don't know WTF I'm doing. We all don't know what we are doing.

like

Dont think of it that way OP. You just need to relearn how to fake it.

likefunny

Fake it till they ask you to leave

like

Be the first one in the gym and last to leave. Put in work and learn from your mistakes. Audit is not rocket science buddy. I’m pretty sure you could teach a fifth grader to do the work.

like

Screw that. If anyone else found themselves in same situation with an incompetent senior faking it we would be pissed

like

Or just do it. You know. Stop being entitled and put in the work.

like

I’m sorry but think of others. Ask for help

Delegation is key, make sure you get good performers under you. The higher you move up the less actual work you have to do.

like

FS tie our is hard? What have you been doing in your associate years....

like

Assurance senior you sound like someone who takes life way too seriously.

like

^EY2 l like your idea

like

easy there hardo

like

I just made it senior 1 too and didn’t totally feel prepared for it. But I asked my friends the same level as me, old seniors, and the manager questions and I feel like I finally know what I’m doing 3 months into it lol

like

Become best pals with your top associates and try to work with them. If they deliver quality work, there’s less work for you to do or mistakes you may miss

like

Not too serious at all. I just believe you shouldn’t fake something when others are depending on you

like

Work harder to learn what you need to.

like

Haha well at least a fs tie out.

Just pased the CT Bar exam this week! I'm working at the place I worked for as a summer associate, but its a general litigation firm. Now that I'm Barred, I'll stick to Plaintiff's PI/WC/Med Mal but my compensation is just a base of $75k with no incentives— my firm never had an associate dedicated to PI/WC/MM before me.

Partners seem willing to talk. What kind of incentives should I even ask about?

I have to travel to my client every week and the client’s office is attached to a very nice hotel that’s $250 per night. There’s a hotel right across the street that’s $150 per night.. it’s alright, but not as great. Should I be mindful about how much I’m spending or should I blow up the budget until someone says something?

Senior on a new engagement with new hires as staff plus an off shore team. I get IMs and emails all day from every direction and it’s getting overwhelming. It’s to the point where I feel like I can’t leave my computer even for a few minutes. I can’t get anything done during the day and I’m not sure what to do. Any advice for a worn out senior? I’m delegating and taking extra time to coach the staff but I still feel like I gotta do everything myself.

As a senior, I am dealing with trying to get answers from management but those above me want to be the filter and asker of all questions with the client. That is fine, each team has a preference.

But the questions do not seem to get asked or when they do the answer isn't right. How do others deal with this issue?
