What’s the best way to get into crypto? Finally left the big 4 world where independence sucked and made me jump through a bunch of hoops just to invest in anything from certain stocks to crypto. Looking to learn a lot.
We started state testing today with my kiddos taking their FSA Writing. It is the first time I have seen them in school as they are a digital class, and such an amazing experience to see them together as they talked amongst themselves before we went to the classroom to test. You can see how much they miss being together. ❤
I interned and started my career all within the confines of quarantine. Any tips for standing out when all you’ve known is remote work?
FAANG or PE Ops. I currently am in PE Ops consulting but have an offer from Amazon. Any ideas on what would provide more job security? Trying to decide if I should make a jump to FAANG
Veteran | MBA candidate looking to pivot into D&I strategy. Thoughts on general HR vs diversity recruiting?
What guidelines are in place if I want to apply for a gig at a different Publicis agency? Do I have to tell my current shop? Certain salary I'm capped at? Protocol on reaching out? Etc. Anybody know?
Folks who’ve done their MS here (not MBA) - With 2-3 yrs of experience do you think a 1 page CV works or does one elaborate into 2 pages atleast. Also looking for perspective from folks who handle tech recruiting.
What kind of consulting do post mba consultants do at EY since Parthenon is blended in now? And what’s a good reason for switching from Deloitte to EY for post mba? TIA
Accenture Manager salary expectations/ negotiations? (7 YOE, 3 years Big4, currently in Top MBA program) looking at LA office
When you know it's going to be a long day full of pointless meetings and pointless work, but at least you're remote so you resolve to do it all in your underwear.
I know we all love the work from home (or do we?) but does anyone actually miss traveling for their consulting engagements and all the fun that goes along with it? The late nights at the office then the bar and random hookups and excitement and all that? Sure it’s a grind but I think I actually miss it too. Maybe I just miss seeing people at work or seeing people at all. I wonder if we’ll ever get back to that.
What do junior partners (2-3 yrs as partner) at Deloitte S&O make all-in? What is that figure at MBB, PwC, EY?
With traditional education being challenged by Coursera, Udemy, EDX and other MOOC's, do certifications like CISSP, CISM, PMP, CCNA.. still hold weight in today's world? What about 3-5yrs frm now?
I have the opportunity to move to a small boutique data science and data engineering consulting firm that would pay better with less hours. However, would it stunt my growth without a big 4 tag? It has more opportunities for technical growth and certifications but will push me into a more specialized role. I am mostly worried about the trade off between staying until Manager or upper senior and cashing out then. Does anyone have insight on how the two may differ in future career opportunities?
As I sit here and lesson plan on my day off, I'm wondering how important planning is- especially for us veteran teachers. I mean, I sometimes spend hours on one and then throw it out or change it anyway.
I just find it odd that my biglaw firm isn’t even entertaining a flexible work schedule. They made more money last year with people remote. It’s like they’re not motivated by profit.
