Inflation disproportionately hurts the poor and working class. It’s more of an inconvenience to those with more, and can in some instances be a benefit (like if you are a home owner who is looking to sell). Given you say you have a 70% savings right, it’s not surprising you don’t see it as a big deal.

Food, gas, services, anything you buy has had huge price hikes.

For example I ordered 10 wings the other night. Those wings used to be $10.99 from the restaurant, they are now $16.99. Did it break my bank no, but I definitely noticed that my money didn’t go as far

I'm not concerned. Historically the market adjusts in the long run.

I dont think inflation is going to be an issue - Jay Powell is aware of it and solving for it. In case it does run hot for a while, he could look into more QE, lowering rates, or maybe even (as Yellen suggested) directly buy ETFs and corporate bonds. So i think it shouldnt worry us much.

I am tracking my spending pretty accurately / by category so I really don’t see that in my numbers. Gas indeed but as I mentioned, no car.

Haven't your food bills increased? We're a familiy of 4 and despite making trade-offs, our bill is still at least 10% higher/month. And we're eating out a lot less than before.

Yeah it’s a bit hard to imagine who hasn’t seen increased grocery bills. It’s a pretty broad basket of foods that have increased. I’m sure there are some out there who eat very specific items that haven’t seen significant increases, but not exactly sure what it would be. All meat is up. Eggs are up. Dairy is up. Produce is up. Haven’t seen noticeable changes in pasta/grains so maybe 100% carbs all the time?

I‘m in Europe, fyi: 2020: €12.3k; 2021: €11.4K. That’s for groceries/lunch/dinner - so there’s also a mix impact between them. Also, most days during the week dinner is on the company / expenses. Numbers are for 2.
