Any Spotify people here? Noticed there’s an AM role going at the moment in the UK but not sure what experience level it is. For reference I’ve got 6 years in ad sales experience with 3 years management (both in music industry). Would this be comfortable or is it worth holding out for AD?

Start your own practice and get out and sell yourself
Just remember - If you record it, it's not prostitution. /s
Why not pivot to fintech? Good money in that, and you've already got the financial background.
Crypto is huge right now. I would suggest that route if it is something you are interested in pursuing.
financial data sales
Yep - fintech. Plenty of accounting software companies out there
Go sell ERP/EPM at Oracle, Workday, SAP, etc. Lots of money to be made there
Or even pre-sales engineering/consulting for a similar type of product
Independent practice.. start your own firm and get after it!
A friend of mine owns this company and hires salespeople to sell the platform. https://billment.com
I’ll reach out to him next week
Thx
Accounting or finance software company!
Data analysis, it’s important to every business and it’s only getting more popular. Esp financial data. How can you make better finanacial decisions based on data and/or how can you save time=money based on data.
Look at the job descriptions in the industry you want to target, and think about how you can relate the “needed skills” to your current experience. I feel like selling yourself is the most important thing you can sell. Good luck!
Payroll Software
I worked in accounting for a number of years. Got into IT Auditing and got all the sales training I could from Big 4. Lead proposal teams and everything as a SA. I prepped for taking a tech sales role for two years basically. When I was passed up for manager I immediately quit. No time to work on a career for less pay.
I made the leap into tech sales as an AM and doubled my income overnight. I am now about 6 years removed from accounting and make $500k a year average selling artificial intelligence for a VERY well know silicone valley company. Not bad for my accounting degree from a state college and low 3 GPA.
Sell whatever interests you. I would die selling accounting software. Sell AWS, AZURE or GCP. Sell data center equipment or cyber security software. No need to pigeon hole yourself.
But my advice - while at Big 4, get all the sales experience you can. Get all the training you can. And try to pivot to IT audit so you can learn all of the softwares and systems. You can see how much they cost. And you can make an informed decision for what you might want to sell.
