Which V20 has the worst culture and why?
I’d use opportunity cost thinking to make this decision.
There’s not a wrong or right answer and it’s based on what you value. If you feel you’re behind in your life because you lack organization and it would be ‘cheaper’ for you to maybe just set an alarm to remind yourself to call your doctor, run errands instead of browse Fishbowl (not a drag - just be honest with yourself!) then the most efficient thing might be is to just get more organized yourself. If you’re genuinely swamped and that’s why you can’t get to these things, I’d consider if you can start saying no to more work or maybe set boundaries so you have more time for yourself. But if that’s not the issue and you’re trying to gun for partner or keep close relationships with demanding clients, it might be worth it for you to get an assistant for these things so you can take your valuable time and put it towards that instead of these tasks. Or if none of these things are an issue and you just hate doing these menial things in your life, then it might be worth the quality of life points to just throw money at the problem to make it go away.
That being said, good personal assistants are hard to find because it’s hard to find someone who will do things just as well as you do and understand your needs.
This is a fantastic and nuanced response.
Following bc I ask myself this every day

Id put my foot down at work before I hired a personal assistant.

You have to just schedule it and then treat it like any other priority. Block off whatever time it takes and go to the doctor, get food, etc. I’ve never gone to a doctor (for example) outside normal business hours. The world won’t fall off its axis in that time.
Do what you can online. I avoid grocery shopping and anything that requires me to step in a store and that saves a lot of time.
I did this when I was a first year associate and it was amazing. She bought my family’s Christmas gifts for them when I was tied up on a 3 week trial that ended Christmas Eve. She did personal shopping for me bc I didn’t have time to shop sometimes (including returns!). Did my grocery shopping and got my dry cleaning. Worth every penny.

The only thing stopping me is tax nonsense. There were a few offshore companies that were offering this from India on a subscription basis, but I don’t think they’re still around.
I’d love to do this also, I really think it would make a huge difference in my ability to relax with my downtime
