I took Paxil and it really helped me. Had tried Wellbutrin, Zoloft, and Lexapro which didn’t work on me. Short term I gained 10 lbs, but lost it when I finished my medication after a year. The benefits significantly outweigh the short term effects. I don’t have any long term effects, and am thankful that the medications helped me return to my normal self. It takes time and all I can say is that you keep the faith and let yourself heal. Please don’t overthink it medication despite the gazillion negative articles, and please don’t play Dr. Google!
i’ve been on a relatively low dose of lexapro for years and it’s great for me. had side effects when i started it (mostly nausea) but otherwise nothing much besides that it makes me a bit drowsy so i take it near bedtime. it makes a huge difference in my quality of life. i see a psychiatrist every couple of months to check in and my PCP knows i’m on it and has never raised any concerns with it. no long term effects other than allowing me to finish law school, take the bar, and function as a attorney
i’m on 10mg but have been on 20mg at other times (like during bar prep haha)
