Information governance and RIM often get shortshrift. Be hyper-organized with folders by matter, vigilant with _v# and store locally as well as copying your file system into the back up/shared drives in folder located there under your name. That’s how I’ve done it.
Adopted NetDocuments for this reason.
Following.
Very similar experience. Have recently been considering convincing GC to take up a very basic DMS. Any recommendations? Small team in outpost branch of a bank <10 people.
Contract Wrangler might be a good solution to check out.
Where I'm at, everyone just saves drafts locally or into the cloud. Final docs are saved in the shared drive. Versioning can be done by renaming files by the date and v1, v2 etc - a bit clunky I admit, but I prefer this over Google Docs (which is slowly creeping into the legal team...)
Joining chain - having same realization. Glad to know it’s not just us. Hopefully someone has a good recommendation
Omg. 😳 This physically pains me. If it’s a major public company, surely they can afford to get a doc management system? Any chance of recommending that and having that recommendation be favorably received?
I’m feeling it out. Legal’s budget has been tightened during the pandemic (and they like to joke they spent it all on bringing me in), so this may be a longer term initiative.
This is terrifying, yet I’m unsurprised. Following though.
