I wish we had an actual holiday party that wasn't at the office. Accenture is so cheap.
Banks have been expanding parental leave policies with some offering the same amount of time to both primary and secondary parents. Do you think your company provides sufficient time off? Most importantly, would you be willing to take the full amount of time - without fearing repercussions?
What’s the maximum PTO payout if I quit? I’ve got a ton of hours saved up. Like 8 weeks. Will I get all of it?
Should I give my colleagues holiday presents?
First time having president’s day holiday in the company but still worked. I guess that’s the life of an accountant- No president’s day holiday.
Has anyone used Turo for car rentals for personal / vacation rentals, and if so any takeaways? Recommend or not recommend? Things to watch out for?
I did it! I just resigned without a solid backup plan. I will take some time off, chill, go on vacation, will get inspired again and am looking forward to new adventures and challenges.
Okay my PM nerds, who here has a project management document laying out your Thanksgiving cooking plan or other holiday activities...?
Best bang for your buck vacation -- looking for a decent beach immediately after busy season. Ideas??
What’s your sweet spot for number/days of vacation per year while also striving toward FIRE?
Plan to leave the firm within the next 6 months and use my PTO every other Friday because I can’t handle this work any longer—it has destroyed my mental health, along with the pandemic and all the shit going on in the world. I’m grateful to have a job but I can’t do this any more. I’m fully staffed on an engagement, but can I still request PTO every 2 weeks (just trying to use them up at this point)? Don’t care about promos, don’t care about this line of work and industry
Dumb question but if I’m taking PTO Friday-Monday, is my end time at 12AM on that Monday or Tuesday on outlook?
Coming off of my first real, full week of PTO in my 10+ year career (my fault... that was self- imposed) and WOW. I actually feel refreshed, comfortable with returning tomorrow and grateful that my firm and team did not once try to grab my attention for literally anything. Take your PTO, folks. I'm serious. It helps.
I got let go from my job while on vacation. Found out through emails removing my access to brand pages and then received confirmation about it. I’m overwhelmed and can’t focus on the positive just yet
Got an offer for a job that will start in February of 2022. I’m planning on giving my 2 weeks soon and taking a 2-3 month break before the next position starts to just relax and take some time off. I’m young now (mid 20s) and I don’t think I’ll get a chance to take several months off between jobs again after this. Will this gap in employment be a potential issue down the road? I may be thinking too much into this, but would like some advice. TIA
Did everyone take a day or two off to celebrate the holiday? Does anyone feel pressure to work on the holidays? It seems like major meetings get schedules with no thought about the high holidays
My contract has 4 week notice for leaving the job, and the new job I’m about to accept would like me to start asap (and so would I). How shitty is it to do 4 week notice with 2 of those being vacation? Wouldn’t want to burn a bridge but 4 weeks, jeez.
Should an agency have a $600,000 holiday party budget and subsequently conduct layoffs before said holiday? #HotSportsOpinion

How to gracefully decline an offer? After a two month long process they came back to me with a comp that is 13% higher than my current comp. 😓 Not willing to make the move to NYC with the comp they offered. The opportunity is with a PE in NYC. Ops role
How do I become an MBB employee? Is it possible to gain experience at big 4+ACN and then get referred in??
I spent the last 3 months "growing up" & now I'm ready to go. 1st thing is for me to get my own place. I'd like to buy instead of rent because I don't want to pay someone else's mortgage. I'm thinking of selling my car & cash out some of my 401k to buy a house. My thought is to put down 3.5% for a FHA loan then make a big payment towards the principal to reduce long-term interest. Anything wrong with this thinking or anything else I should consider?
What's the value of sticking it out to MD besides the money? How much prestige is really carried in the position?
