When you get to the point where you genuinely don’t believe in the abilities of your direct boss and agency leadership it’s time to leave. Especially if you’re also underpaid
They paid me wayyy too little money while I brought in wayyy to much money
When my boss told me there was a line down the street of people to waiting to take my job and she could replace me in an instant
When you and your boss are the only people in the office at 6am and she doesn’t even acknowledge you’re there. Too specific?
When the people that support you have gone. Time to leave.

My boss talked to me only once in two weeks
Realized the creative leadership was completely useless. Was all talk and had no creative vision or management skills. Knew I could do better on my own
You loose a portion of the work and that's your only client
When what I was doing didn’t align with my career goals, and my managers didn’t care enough to see how they could change that
When I asked for a raise and my boss said “quit” because that’s the only way to make more money.
When I changed cities for a job and 6 months in I realized I didn’t like that city.
When my boss called me into his office to talk with him and a rep from HR. They had a box ready for me and HR escorted me out the door.
When my boss got fired and his boss wouldn’t give me a well deserved promotion because “we’re not making any changes around here right now."
When the gig ended and they couldn’t book me further.
And, going way back, when my father bought me a plane ticket to the Middle East to go explore my roots
When you get a well deserved raise and then the agency loses billing that have absolutely nothing to do with you. Clockwork.
