How did you meet your last new $1mil client?

In developing a new PM department within a small Pharma company a colleague and I are trying to determine the best PM software/program to utilize. For reference we are steering away from MS Project and currently looking into Smartsheets. Does anyone have any other recommendations for a program they found useful? We want to have a dashboard that collates information from cross functional teams but, that can simultaneously be utilized for the individual teams. Tracking milestones, risks,budget...

Had a "haha" moment. I had been dealing with a client for months and they were somewhat satisfied, if a little bit exigent with their demands. My boss told me I was screwing things up, decided to take the partnership upon themselves, and a week after, this client cut ties with us.

I am exploring other software industries and am currently interviewing with companies in the HCM/Payroll space for project management. My main hesitation is the escalation level with something as sensitive as payroll. I’m looking to avoid getting sucked into after business hours work. Any insight from anyone working in that space?

Is it normal for Managers and Sr. Managers to not tell Sr Consultants about what discussions are going on with the client? Just giving them work and expecting them to just do that?

How do you deal with a client that is reluctant to give you the needed information and gets pissy with you when you ask for more thorough explanations I don’t wanna ruin the client relationship dynamic but almost every single engagement I am on the client is always in a bad mood. Is it me?? I try to be super nice.

Does every excuse include the word 'client'? "Late because of client call" "Tied down with client work" etc?

My boss is asking me to “reconsider” the way I approach a client… I am in charge of this annoying corporate maintenance thing that we do for a client (I.e., making board of directors meeting to comply with some regulatory reporting required. I always end up missing deadlines. How would you reply?

Silly question, but would appreciate help:
On Monday 5/11 a manager reached out and said I might be staffed on his project starting the following Monday 5/18. He also informed HR about this, but I haven’t heard anything since.
How can I phrase a quick email to him, asking if I’m still on the project and if there are any materials to review to prepare for Monday if yes?

I like the project I am on but I truly dislike the senior I work with. Never met such a condescending man in my life.

Am I crazy for wanting to put my 2 weeks in without anything lined up? I’m a high performer hoping to switch to another LoS (AAS or FDD) at another Big 4 as an A3 and I feel like putting up with audit any longer is just burning me out more and more. I feel like I just need a break to just focus on updating my resume and preparing for interviews again but it’s incredibly hard with all the current demands of this big public client I’m on. My male boss literally called a project I did “unrefined and junior in quality” and is now holding parts of my job I enjoy over my head (I.e. taking me off site visits to clients despite me being the best on the team for closing clients face to face). on my second month in.

Instead what he said he wanted was something “world class” and “an impeccable experience”… when it is literally a slide deck. He has also yo-yo’d on this saying “wow awesome” “great!” before messaging me privately. Contd.

I've accepted an offer from one of my clients. Looking to give notice this coming week. Who and how should I start the process? Should I talk with Partner on the account first or Senior Manager? Feeling a bit uneasy about the process giving I will still be working on same project.
